Si stiu ca asta o sa vina ca un soc, dar mie imi plac pantofii. In consecinta, mi-am luat pantofi. Sunt inalti si frumosi si stralucitori si comozi (chiar sunt!) si au venit la pachet cu o reducere de 40%!

EN: Myeah. The Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection. Thank you Topshop for giving me yet another thing to obsess about. Of course that by the time I opened the website, the collection was already sold out and of course the balloon dress I loved so much was the most expensive product and the first one to go. From the first time I saw it, my jaw hit the floor as I was absolutely mesmerized by how gorgeous, vivid and cheerful the colors were. And don’t get me started on the prints! Gorgeous, I’m telling you! If only I was Paris Hilton… Or any other rich spoiled brat celebrity with a good wi-fi connection.
So sad. And now, a moment of silence please, to commemorate what could’ve been a love story. Let us pray.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I found solace, my friends. But more on that later.

Now on to my outfit. Survived (or just about) the black frost in just a pair of tights, a dress and my coat. Considering the tons of layers I’ve been wearing lately, it’s such a relief to wear something that doesn't constantly remind you that you’re in big trouble if you need to pee.
So I’m wearing a Mango dress I bought a year ago on sale. It has a nice fit-and-flare silhouette (which I totally love), a semi stiff underskirt, it’s cinched in at the waist and it has a lovely folk print. What’s there not to love? I wore it very often last summer with bare legs and sandals (ah, memories!) and paired it with thick tights and boots this time, just to make sure my legs won’t turn blue before getting back home. Sneaky little appearance from my beloved red coat which I neglected to wear ever since the ice age struck. I’m Sesquatch, remember?

RO: Mda. Mary Katrantzou pentru Topshop. De parca aveam nevoie de o alta obsesie. Bineinteles ca pana am apucat eu sa deschid siteul (asta insemnand undeva la maxim 2 ore de la lansare), colectia era deja sold out si bineinteles ca rochia pe care o vroiam eu (nu ca mi-as fi permis-o, dar eu o vroiam totusi:))) a fost cea mai scumpa si prima vanduta. M-am indragostit de ea inca de cand au aparut teaserele pe net, acum cateva luni. Salivam la culori. Tanjeam dupa imprimeuri. Ca un copil prost la bomboana altuia. N-a fost sa fie. Superb, ce sa mai zic. Daca eram si eu Paris Hilton…sau macar un plod de celebritate obscura ceva. Cu wi-fi potent.
Trist. Sa pastram un moment de reculegere in memoria a ceea ce putea fi o poveste de dragoste intre o fata si o rochie. Sa ne rugam.
M-am consolat totusi. Dar despre asta mai tarziu.

Acum hai cu tinuta. M-am aventurat de curand prin nameti si ger in doar o pereche de ciorapi, o rochie si haina. Intamplarea face ca am scapat vie (sau ma rog, aproape vie). Dupa tonele de straturi in care m-am infasurat in ultima luna, e o senzatie sublima sa nu ti se mai reaminteasca in mod constant in ce hal ai pus-o daca ai nevoie la pipi.
Deci port o rochie Mango luata anul trecut de la reduceri. Mi-a placut in mod special silueta, este stransa pe corp in partea de sus iar de la talie in jos, fusta devine clos avand pe dedesubt ceva ca o jupa batoasa, pentru mai mult volum. Imprimeul imi place, talia e marcata, lungimea e ok…ce sa mai vreau? Vara trecuta m-am bucurat de ea intens, cu picioare dezgolite si sandale (ah, ce amintiri!) iar de data asta m-am folosit de ciorapi grosi (cea mai groasa pereche pe care o am, poate la fel de grosi ca si colantii) si cizme groase. Preventiv doar, sa fiu sigura ca nu ma intorc acasa albastra de la frig. Si poate va amintiti si de haina asta rosie pe care nu prea m-ati vazut purtand-o. Probabil pentru ca n-am mai imbracat-o de cand cu Ice Age. Sunt eu, Sesquatch. Tineti minte? :P

Sad to say that for the time being, most of these things are hopeless. But if there were to be spring and I could take long walks from dawn till dusk, feel the blowing air moving across my body, watch the swollen clouds, enjoy long conversations, wear high heels and easy breezy dresses, then this would be the dress I’d wear. And yes, I’d pair those shoes with ankle socks (I know I know, faux pas, bla bla bla) and I’d wear tons of jewellery and fancy hats and I’d read that book (~~well, not quite that one, I’m almost done with it~~), I’d drink iced tea and I’d eat my pizza with silverware. Haha, I find it so funny to see people scrupulously eating their pizza with fork and knife!

EN: As you may have noticed yesterday, I’ve given my blog a little makeover. I got a little bored of my last layout so I decided to redesign a new one, a cleaner and sleeker one. I've had some ideas in mind for a while and Tuesday night, at 3 a.m., since I couldn’t get any sleep, I started working on it. Anyway, I really like the way it turned out, so simplistic and delicate, with a clear background and pastel colors. Hope you like it too:)
About my outfit…I’m taking the easy way out with this one. I’m wearing some no name jeans, a floral bodysuit and a vintage cardigan I’ve recently scored at a thrift store. It has some very beautiful details, sparkly embellishments and delicate white beads, and the shoulders are somehow puffy, as if there were shoulder pads. Unfortunately, my trusty photographer failed to get crisp close ups of them.
Anyway, I wasn't originally planning on taking these outfit photos (in fact, I wasn’t planning on doing anything besides cuddling in bed with my fluffy cats while sipping on a steaming hot mug of cocoa, as far away from the cold weather as I could get) but I had to get dressed, go out in the blizzard and pick up some packages for my mother. At first I thougt I’m gonna kill her as soon as I get home, or even worse, give all of her shoes to the dogs to chew. She should be thankful I let her live this time. Very generous of me, I know.

P.S. No, I'm not hypocrite enough to assert that I can walk in 6 inch heels in snow or ice. I did nothing but sit comfortably in the right car seat:)

RO: In caz ca ati intrat ieri pe blog, ati observat ca m-am jucat putin cu tema acestuia. Plictisita fiind de aspectul anterior, cochetam de ceva vreme cu ideea unui design nou, mai curat si mai atragator. Aveam deja ceva in minte iar in noaptea de Luni catre Marti, pe la 3 dimineata, cand vecinii mei s-au gandit ca e o idee buna sa dea sonorul la maxim pe taraf, am inceput sa-mi prind urechile in HTML si Photoshop intru crearea unei teme noi. Pana la urma a iesit asta: un nou header, fundalul la fel de simplu pe alb si culori pastelate. Sper sa va placa si voua:)
Despre tinuta…stiu, revolutionar. Asa-i ca n-ati mai vazut jeansi cu o bluza si-o jacheta? Stiam eu ca va uimesc. Pantalonii sunt no name, bluza e defapt un body floral luat din Mini prix iar cardiganul l-am gasit recent intr-un sh. Nu prea imi explic cum de nu l-a sutit vreo mamaie inaintea mea, tinand cont de detaliile frumoase pe care le prezinta. Nu stiu cat de bine se vede, fotograful meu de incredere a esuat fulminant in a le capta cum vroiam eu, insa, pe fata este impodobit cu margelute stralucitoare de tot felul, iar pe margini sunt cusute delicat perlute albe. Si forma e interesanta, e croit cumva ca un sacou scos din anii 80, cu umeri bufanti ca si cand ar avea pernute de burete. Dăcât ca n-are.
In principiu nu trebuia sa fac poze tinutei asteia (defapt, in principiu nu trebuia sa ma misc de sub paturi-pe mine sau pe cei 2 motani celebri ce-mi tineau de cald, cu atat mai putin sa ies din casa in ger) insa maica mii i s-a parut de bine sa ma trimita pana la o tanti sa ridic niste pachete pentru ea si sa cumpar niste chestii. La intoarcere am facut pozele. Nu stiu ce-a fost in capul meu sa ma duc, pe langa faptul ca mai imi da de mancare uneori. Pe drum insa deja faceam planuri cum o sa-i torn dimineata cianura in cafea. Sau macar sa-i dau pantofii la catei sa-i roada (asta ar fi fost chiar mai tragic). Mda…a apreciat totusi c-am lasat-o sa traiasca de data asta. Foarte generos din partea mea, stiu.

P.S. Nu, nu sunt indeajuns de ipocrita cat sa sustin ca pot merge prin zapada sau gheata, pe tocuri de 15 cm. Si banuiesc ca nici voi n-aveti ciunga in par sa ma credeti. Tot ce am facut a fost sa stau comod in dreapta soferului in masina si sa cobor cand a fost cazul.

EN: For the last couple of weeks I’ve been basically living in leggings, tight jeans or anything that would keep me warm, and yes, I know I haven’t been the best example of stylish and you’re probably expecting to see me in pink uggs soon (ain’t gonna happen) but I promise as soon as the snow melts I will be getting back to business.
So finally a skirt! A maxi skirt in the winter. Why haven't i thought of this before?!?!? Oh yes…perhaps because of my frozen neurons.
I’m not sure why was my mind programmed to think long skirts and dresses are only for summer days since they seem to work so well during these cold months. Paired with thick tights, leggings, leg warmers, boots, blazers, cardigans, leather jackets, vests, faux fur, scarves and hats, maxi skirts can definitely be incorporated into our winter attire!
I’ve been meaning to wear this one for a while but I somehow managed to forget about it every single time I got dressed… Here I’m wearing it with my trusty faux fur Topshop coat, a no name sweater and necklace, vintage clutch, scarf and belt and H&M rings.

So, inspire me. What are you wearing these days? Do share!

Oh, and if you're lucky enough to live somewhere hot all year round…I hate you.

RO: Ati observat banuiesc in ce existenta mizera ma zbat de vreo cateva saptamani incoace: leggingsi (ce-i uram inainte dar ce-i urasc acum), jeansi stramti si in principiu cam orice sta lipit de corp si tine de cald. Da, stiu ca n-am fost cel mai bun exemplu de cochetareala in perioada asta, si ca probabil nu v-ar surprinde sa ma vedeti in uggs roz maine (inspirati, n-o sa se intample. expirati acum) dar promit ca de indata ce se topeste zapada (si ne vor lovi inundatiile), ma veti vedea cocotata pe tocuri, infasurata in matasuri colorate.
Deci in sfarsit o fusta! O fusta lunga pe timp de iarna! De ce naibii nu m-am gandit la asta pana acum?!?! Cel mai probabil din cauza neuronilor inghetati…cu atat mai mult cu cat, din motive carora nu le gasesc justificare acum, mintea mea era programata sa asocieze lungimile maxi cu zilele de vara. Am descoperit insa cu stupoare (stupid, stiu) ca fustele de genul acesta merg incredibil de bine cu ciorapi grosi, leggingsi , jambiere, cizme, sacouri, cardigane, jachete de piele, veste, blanuri artificiale, esarfe si caciuli si ca pot arata chiar mai bine in perioada asta a anului decat vara, cand eu una, la rotisorul ce ne paste dupa ce trece circul asta cu zapada, simt ca nu suport nici aerul pe piele.
Vroiam de mult sa port fusta asta dar cumva, parandu-mi-se prea subtire pentru lunile din decembrie incoace, am varat-o in adancurile dulapului si am uitat complet de ea. Traieste totusi :> iar aici o port cu o haina de blana artificiala de la Topshop, o bluza si-un colier no name, poseta, curea si esarfa vintage si inele de la H&M. Plus bineinteles, cohorta de straturi inferioare pe care n-are rost s-o mai mentionez.

Asadar. Voi ce purtati in perioada asta? Ziceti, ziceti. CU CUraj. Inspirati-ma!

Oh, iar in caz ca vietuiti in vreo zona unde e cald tot anul...va urasc. Glumeam.

EN: Oh dear. I just had three power cuts in the house, each one lasting about an hour. Yaaaay, what a joy.
Now that the power is back, I’m pleased to announce that I have no idea whatsoever of what was I going to write about.
Aaaaaaaaanyway, as you can probably tell, once again, I’m the furry friend. It’s pretty lame actually, everywhere I go wearing something like this, people keep popping up asking me if they can pet my coat. Even my dad likes it, if you can belive it! He usually has a deep “appreciation” for my personal style, so that he likes impersonating me by wearing my hats, sunnies and jewellery and walking around like Frankenstein while singing I will survive-Gloria Gaynor. Deep appreciation indeed.

RO: Gizas. De cand m-am asezat la calculator si pana acum, a picat curentul de 3 ori. Fiecare pana tinand dăcât o ora. Beton, e fericirea pe mine grup.
Tin sa anunt totusi, ca acum ca am curent, nu am nici cea mai mica idee despre ce vroiam initial sa fac postul asta. O sa-mi aduc aminte probabil…la noapte.
Pozele. Din nou, sunt eu, prietenul blanos :> Spun “din nou” pentru ca am renuntat complet la paltoane si alt soiul de jachete de cand temperaturile au scazut mult sub 0 grade. Si astfel, de fiecare data cand imi fac curaj sa ies din casa si ma intalnesc cu careva, se stie: Sesquatch e printre noi. Si apar destui care vor sa puna mana pe blana lui Sesquatch, le place ca e moale si pare scos de la gradina zoologica. Pana si lui tata ii plac hainele de genul asta, daca puteti crede! In general el manifesta o “dragoste” deosebita pentru simtul meu vestimentar, atat de deosebita ca ii place sa ma imite punand treijdemii de bijuterii pe brate, ochelari de soare si palarii, mergand prin casa ca Frankenstein si cantand I will survive-Gloria Gaynor. Uneori mai baga si cate un lasa-ma papa la mare, asta asa cand vrea s-o arda trendy pe sistem carpato-danubiano-pontic.

So I went to H&M with my friends in order to find some things and I tried on a few pieces, including this Versace for H&M dress and this skirt, which I actually bought. They were both on sale but the dress was a definitely no-no for my body shape so I only got the skirt. It was one of those "Should I? Shouldn't I?" purchases where I was on the fence and had to really think it over. Anyway, I can’t resist a tassel, especially if it’s pink! so I caved in.

Deci m-am dus la H&M cu individele din poza sa cumparam nu stim exact ce. Am probat niste lucruri, inclusiv rochia asta si fusta asta pe care am luat-o pana la urma. In principiu colectia m-a cam lasat rece din cauza preturilor si isteriei exagerate (nu pentru ca mi s-a parut neplacuta, unele lucruri chiar mi-au placut), insa piesele astea, 1) daca inca sunt acolo, inseamna ca nu prea s-au vandut, deci sunt sanse mai mici sa le vad la orice colt de strada, 2) daca inca sunt acolo, inseamna ca si preturile sunt decente. Sa probam zic. Rochia venea ca naiba pe mine, am lasat-o frumos pe umeras si am fugit ca dracul de tamaie, insa fusta…m-am tot foit cu privire la ea, nu eram sigura daca sa o iau sau nu pentru ca mai ochisem ceva intr-un alt magazin si nu aveam bani suficienti pentru ambele. Complicele au votat pentru fusta pana la urma, asa ca m-am dus cu ea acasa.

Eh? Sexy or what? Haha.

Nigel: You'll take what I give you and you'll like it. We're doing this Dolce for you. And shoes. Jimmy Choo's. Manolo Blahnik. Nancy Gonzalez. Love that. Okay, Narciso Rodriguez. This we love. Uh, it might fit. It might.

EN: And you guys thought I was stylish! Ha.
Well, I would if I could, but I can’t so I won’t.
The past couple of days I’ve been basically wearing the same thing: thick tights underneath thick pants(I miss my skirts), layers and layers of tops, ugly shoes (this kind of big boots are the only ones that keep me from falling on ice) and the rest of the winter proof arsenal such as hats, gloves and scarves.

RO: Si voi care credeati ca sunt stylish! Ha.
Ma rog, as fi daca as putea, dar nu pot asa ca nu sunt.
De cand ne-a lovit era glaciara, n-am purtat altceva afara de ciorapi grosi sub pantaloni grosi (mi-e dor de fuste), straturi si straturi de bluze, incaltari hidoase (genul asta de bocanci fiind singurele pe care le pot purta fara sa alunec pe gheata) si desigur, restul arsenalului anti degerat, format din caciuli, manusi si fulare. Nu suport vremea asta de nicio culoare, si cred ca nici ea pe mine. Era sa mor alunecand in spagat de vreo 3 ori. Cool, stiu.

Thing is, this weather makes me feel like I have nothing to wear. So I shop.
Few days ago I went shopping with my mom and I tried on these pants first. They looked good on the hanger, all sparkly and nice, but when I tried them on…disaster. The cut was so weird, I’ve never seen pants so ill-fitting. And that’s just wrong, clothes should fit you, you needn’t fit them!

Nu-mi arde nici de cochetareala, am senzatia ca daca nu ma pot incalta cu nimic decent, n-am nici cu ce ma imbraca. Asa ca ma duc la cumparaturi.
M-am dus acum cateva zile cu mama prin oras si am gasit pantalonii astia scurti la New Yorker. Erau si la reduceri asa ca am zis sa-I probez. Aratau bine pe umeras, stralucitori si luciosi asa, dar nu prea. I-am imbracat si mi s-au parut foarte ciudati, croiti execrabil cu o talie ciudata si un format tembel. Ceea ce e aiurea, hainele ar trebui sa ni se potriveasca noua, nu noi lor!

Later on, I went thrifting and I found some great things that will be fun to use when spring arrives. I also bought some pretty jewellery this week…

Mai tarziu am fost si prin sh uri si am gasit niste lucruri grozave. De care bineinteles ca nu ma voi putea bucura pana nu se termina cu porcaria asta de iarna. Am mai luat si niste bijuterii zilele astea…

And hair dye. I like to experiment with my hair so I thought i should lighten it a couple of shades. Don’t worry, it won’t turn out to be that fair, I just want to make it a nice light brown.

Si vopsea de par. Ma bate gandul de o schimbare de mult si m-am gandit ca n-ar fi o idee rea sa ma deschid putin la culoare. Nu va ganditi ca o sa-mi iasa nuanta la fel de blonda ca cea a gagicii de pe cutie, va fi doar un saten mai deschis.

In my last post I was telling you about some new furry friends my mom recently brought home. Ta-da! Two fluffy rabbits, the black one is a girl and we named her Angelina Jolie, haha, and the white one is the boy and we call him Panda :D

Va spuneam in ultima postare de niste prieteni parosi noi. Ta-da! Intr-o zi a venit mama acasa cu 2 iepurasi :D Cel negru e fetita si am numit-o Angelina Jolie iar cel alb e baietel si ii spunem Panda:))

Aren’t these the cutest paper bags ever? I bought some earrings from C&A and I was super excited to see them wrapped in these girly packages. They remind me of popcorn bags...

Nu-i asa ca-s dragalase foc ambalajele astea? Mi-am luat niste cercei de la C&A si duduia de la casa mi i-a impachetat in chestiile astea simpatice. Imi aduc aminte de pungile de popcorn…

So. Gossip girl. I just finished watching the latest episode and I’m a bit disappointed. A few years ago I used to be a big fan of the show but now they just seem to recycle their plot lines over and over. It’s boring, full of clichés and so predictable! The only reason why I’m still watching it is the eye candy=great styiling.

Deci Gossip Girl(pentru cei care nu urmariti serialul,treceti de partea asta). Tocmai am terminat de vazut ultimul episod si am ramas la fel de dezamagita ca acum 2, 3, 4, 20, 40 de episoade. Ce naiba se intampla, mi se pare aceiasi tampenie repetata iar si iar si iar! Imi placea mult la inceput, conflictul era interesant si replicile foarte bine gandite. Acum ma plictiseste de moarte, nu trec 30 de secunde fara un nou cliseu, platitudini la tot pasul si e atat de previzibil! Nu ma mai surprinde cu nimic…asta pe langa faptul ca personajele se contrazic frecvent. Si care-i faza cu universitatea?!?! Adica stiu ca e doar un serial si ca toti astia d’al da Blair, Chuck, Nate, Serena, Georgina samd, sunt multi-milionari din calitatea lor de someri producatori de schimb de oxigen, dar parca acum 2 sezoane erau cu educatia, colegiul, alea alea. Gata? Dupa un an? Misto, e bun sistemul, ar trebui sa-l implementam si noi. Ma rog, poate sunt eu carcotasa. Ma uit in continuare in orice caz, mai mult din cauza stylingului.

Anyway, this last episode bored the hell out of me. All that crap with Georgina trying to destroy Blair’s wedding and Chuck’s arrival at the church…I just don’t buy it. Not to mention Blair’s boring lines. I miss her bitchyness:(
And what about the Prince? Dude, you’re so lame.

Era mult mai interesanta in ipostaza aia bitchy din primul sezon. Acum…pana si cu Dan se pupa.

EN: Don’t be fooled by the happiness of these photos-especially if you live in Romania, aka Siberia. I may seem joyful or delighted by this white crap, but that’s just because I have funny friends who make me laugh and because people were staring at us and because we were almost hit by a car while taking these photos. Truth is I hate winter more than Coke hates Pepsi, more than vampires hate daylight, more than Tom hates Jerry, more than Eminem hates Britney, more than Kate hates food, you get the point.
Hopefully I’ll still be alive by the time spring arrives, that’s my biggest wish at the moment. That, and passing all my exams. Speaking of which….Friday marks their end, just one more and I’m done! Need to study really hard for this one though.
Other than that, I’m having a pretty good time at home, indulging in too many sweets, reorganizing my closet, watching serials and playing with some new furry friends I’ll soon show you guys:D

About the outfit, these days I’m trying to stay away from the Michelin man look as much as I can. I’m using a lot of layers to keep me warm and cozy (you don’t wanna know how many clothes I’m actually wearing here) and I’m never leaving the house without a hat of any kind, a thick scarf and gloves.

RO: Nu va lasati pacalite de aparenta fericire din aceste poze-mai ales daca aveti ghinionul de a trai in Romania, cunoscuta in perioada aceasta si sub denumirea de Siberia. E doar o aparenta. O fantasma. O iluzie. O himera. O naluca. Imi dau seama ca par vesela si incantata de porcaria asta alba, insa nu mi se trage decat de la glumele prietenelor, de la fetele trecatorilor stupefiati ca facem poze si de la masina care era sa ne faca shaorma cu de toate daca ne calca. Adevarul este ca defapt urasc iarna mai ceva decat uraste Coca Cola Pepsi, mai ceva decat vampirii lumina, mai ceva decat Tom pe Jerry, mai ceva decat Eminem pe Britney, mai ceva decat Kate mancarea, ati inteles ideea.
Sper sa apuc primavara, asta e dorinta mea cea mai mare in prezent. Asta, si sa trec de sesiune fara restante. Mai am unul si-am scapat, Vineri il dau, iar dupa sunt un om liber:D Buba e ca trebuie tocit zdravan pentru asta…
Afara de asta, ma simt destul de bine acasa, ma rasfat cu (prea) multe dulciuri, m-am ocupat si de reorganizarea unei parti din dulap, ma uit la seriale si ma joc cu niste noi prieteni blanosi pe care vi-i voi arata in curand:D

Cu privire la tinuta, zilele astea incerc sa ma feresc cat mai mult de lookul omuletului Michelin-adica ma folosesc cat mai mult de straturi multe si subtiri si evit sa trantesc texturi groase. Nu v-ar veni sa credeti daca v-as spune cate haine am defapt pe mine in pozele astea, dar repet, sunt subtiri si din cauza asta mi le permit fara un efect prea inestetic. Pe langa asta, nu ies niciodata din casa fara ceva de pus pe cap de orice fel, o esarfa groasa si manusi. Ajuta mult. Zilele trecute am facut prostia de a pleca pana la magazin fara manusi in maini si abia daca le mai simteam cand am ajuns acasa. Proasta idee.

As the heart was once widely believed to be the seat of the human mind, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul, and stylized depictions of hearts are used as prevalent symbols representing love."

Now that we cleared that up, I don't remember ever thinking about the symbolism of the heart. However, I find it interesting how we tend to associate our emotional feelings with our heart, and therefore we pair the discomfort/pain with the emotional loss and we get a "heartache" or "heartbroken." I mean, it’s not as if we are physically injured or our heart literally hurts! At least in my experience.
On a more superficial note, it is hardly surprising that every now and then, I tend to start little dramas whenever my heart desires something, my mind knows i cannot have. Such as shoes worthy of blowing my rent on. Or the entire Oscar de la Renta ss 2012 collection. Or Johnny Depp. Things, possessions, that have the power to make or ruin my day regardless of whether I need them or not. And what’s funny is that once I have what I desire, it no longer has the power over me that was the very source of its allure.
Having said that, you can only imagine my surprise when I noticed that days have passed, outfits have been worn and I’m still stoked about this t-shirt! Perhaps because it carries my name. Or maybe because it makes people smile? Mneah, no matter…I think it was the heart the one that won my heart.

Dalmatian coat

EN: A few months ago, you may remember me telling you about my intention to buy a fabulous faux fur coat. I was searching for something big and bold and thick enough to keep me warm during the dreadful winter, also for a good price that won’t deprive me of other things I need. Such as my kidneys.
So I spotted this coat on the Topshop website and although it was love at first sight and I knew I have to have it, at that time I didn’t have enough money to buy it. Damn you, credit card. You always spoil my fun.
Anyway, I kept waiting, hoping it will still be there when the sales start, and last month, two hours after the sale launch, I finally bought it. At half price!
I think this is the best investment I have made in years. Reminds me a bit of Chanel…and I think that’s somewhat appealing.
The booties you already know, they were bought along with the coat and except for the bag, the rest of my outfit is vintage.

RO: Poate va aduceti aminte (nu va aduceti aminte sigur) ca acum cateva luni spuneam ca vreau neaparat ca anul asta sa-mi cumpar o haina fabuloasa de blana artificiala. Nu stiam exact ce vroiam, doar sa fie mare, indrazneata si suficient de groasa cat sa ma pastreze in viata pe timp de iarna. Ah, si sa aiba si-un pret decent care sa nu ma lipseasca de alte trebuincioase. Cum ar fi rinichii. Mai imi trebuie, nu de alta.
Si prin Octombrie parca, o vad pe asta pe Topshop. Mi-a placut mult, ma uitam la ea de mai multe ori pe zi si chiar mi-o doream foarte tare, dar la momentul ala nu aveam suficienti bani cat sa o cumpar. Deh…student traitor pe banii parintilor. Si am asteptat, sperand ca o mai prind la reduceri in marimea mea, posibil la un pret mai bland.
Bun. In Decembrie, dupa ce intrasem in vacanta, aveam un proiect de facut (normal, pentru ce altceva sa fie vacanta?!?doh). Era ultima zi in care il puteam trimite, ma trezisem undeva in jur de ora 6 dimineata si ma asezasem la calculator pornita sa fac dracia. Bineinteles, mailul, blogul, facebookul si alte siteuri deschise. Si cum scriam eu pe jumatate adormita, gata sa imi cada capul pe masa, aud un “poof” salvator. Primisem un e-mail de la Topshop in care eram anuntata ca incepand din momentul acela s-a dat start la reduceri. Stiti cum m-am trezit? BAM! Da la o parte foi, deschide siteul, vezi cati bani ai pe card si hai. Pe ele. Nu m-a surprins sa vad ca se dadeau produsele cu viteza luminii, le vedeam pe site ca disponibile, le puneam in cos sa le cumpar iar cand ajungeam la finalizarea comenzii, ma trezeam ca “ne pare rau, produsele nu mai sunt disponibile”. Am vrut asadar sa iau si alte lucruri dar se pare ca am fost prea lenta. M-am ales doar cu botinele, haina si…un 10 la proiectul respectiv :))
Afara de geanta, restul tinutei este alcatuita din piese vintage.

♥ 1 ♥ Leopard print dress – My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw this. Made of the softest, buttery fabric that imitates suede, with a gorgeous shape and an amazing waist detail, It was love at first sight. Unfortunately, I don’t know what to tell you about the label, as I bought it from a local store.

♥ 2 ♥ Thrifted scarf – This scarf is huge. Super versatile and great for instantly jazzing up an outfit. Also, I absolutely loved the zodiac print and the silky fabric. And for 1$, how could I have said no?!? Bargain!

♥ 3 ♥ Thrifted sequin blazer - Ever since Miu Miu’s models strutted down the runway last spring, I haven’t been able to stop lusting after glittery, embellished, sequin thingies. And unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably noticed that sparkles are everywhere right now. Only problem is that they can be quite pricey. Lucky me I found this gorgeous gold blazer :D It’s a little too big for me but looks great cinched at the waist and worn as a dress!

♥ 4 ♥ Vintage shirt – The photo does no justice to the real beauty of this shirt. It’s made of pink silk, it has fabric covered buttons, and, most important! It has a peplum :D Just so you know, this spring, I’m planning to wear peplum like there's no tomorrow!

♥ 5 ♥ Thrifted blue leopard print blazer – Bold. Oversized. Opulent. Just how I like it.

♥ 6 ♥ Vintage reconstructed blouse – I was very drawn by the print of this dress (now a blouse), I’ve had it in my closet for ages and never wore it. I loved the fabric, but not so much the large, frumpy, shape so I decided to get rid of the skirt and only keep the upper part. Looks pretty good to me, don’t you think?

♥ 7 ♥ Topshop Dalmatian faux fur coat - And now, la piece de resistance ! Possibly the best investement I have made in years. Stay tuned, outfit post to come soon!

♥ 8 ♥ Polka dot body – Great for layering!

♥ 1 ♥ Rochie cu imprimeu de leopard – Inima mea a inceput sa salte cand am vazut rochia asta. A fost dragoste la prima vedere, bunaciune maxima facuta din cel mai fin si matasos material ce imita pielea intoarsa, cu o forma superba si un detaliu grozav in zona taliei. Din pacate nu prea stiu ce sa va spun de eticheta, am luat-o din Buzau de la un magazin oarecare…

♥ 2 ♥ Esarfa sh – Esarfa asta e imensa. Foarte versatila si purtabila intr-o multime de feluri. Pentru imprimeul ala cu zodiac si materialul matasos, eu zic ca si-a meritat cei 3 lei:)

♥ 3 ♥ Sacou din paiete sh – Din primavara trecuta, de cand a inceput nebunia Miu Miu cu sclipiciunile, am tot salivat dupa lucrusoare stralucitoare, impodobite, paietate, brodate, samd. Daca ati fost prin magazine in ultimele 6 luni, probabil stiti si voi despre ce vorbesc. E plin. Problema este ca in general sunt scumpe. Eu insa am avut bafta de gasi sacoul acesta auriu:D Imi este putin mare dar arata grozav cu o curea in talie si purtat ca rochie!

♥ 4 ♥ Camasa vintage – Cred ca nici daca imi propuneam nu scoteam o poza mai nasoala ca asta. Nu se intelege nimic din forma reala a camasii, insa ca idee, este relativ stransa pe corp iar in jurul taliei e croita ca o silueta peplum. Culoarea este roz deschis iar nasturii sunt imbracati in aceiasi matase din care este facuta bluza. Ca idee:D La primavara, am de gand sa exploatez treaba asta cu peplumul ca si cand ar intra zilele in sac!

♥ 5 ♥ Sacou cu imprimeu albastru de leopard – Indraznet. Oversized. Opulent. Cum imi place mie.

♥ 6 ♥ Bluza vintage modificata – Initial chestia asta a fost o rochie. Mare, lunga, lalaie, imi venea pana la genunchi si in principiu statea ca pe gard pe mine. Am cumparat-o pentru material mai mult si n-am purtat-o niciodata, stiind ca intr-o zi se va gasi ceva de facut din ea. Iar de curand am fugit cu ea la croitoreasa si mi-a rezolvat problema scapandu-ma de fusta. E dragutica, nu?

♥ 7 ♥ Haina de blana artificiala Topshop – Muhahahaaaaaaaaaa, si acum piesa de rezistenta! Cred ca asta este cea mai buna investitie pe care am putut s-o fac anul trecut. Fiti pe faza, in curand va arat si niste tinute cu ea:D

♥ 8 ♥ Body imbulinat – Numai bun pentru layering!

In the end, I would like to show you guys something big, a pretty dream that my heart longed to one day have. As you probably know, I’ve always been a fan of girly, feminine looks. I’ve always loved retro silhouettes, pin-up, high waists, big dresses, corsets, cat eyes, minis, one piece swimsuits, garters and girdles, etc etc. And I’ve always lusted for one of those big, puffy dresses they used to wear back in the 50’s. Unfortunately, never in my thrifting experience have I seen such a piece. Buuuuut, as a vintage and E-bay freak that I am, I was lucky enough to score this purple crinoline for sale. I swear, the minute it arrived, I was jumping around like popcorn in a microwave!
It’s absolutely H-U-G-E, just as I wanted, and it’s made of tons and tons of delicious layers of fabric, like a cake. Looks stunning underneath a circle skirt or dress! And I’m about to eat it, seriously.

In incheiere, as vrea sa va arat ceva mare, in toate sensurile posibile, ceva la care visam de mult. Probabil stiti, mai ales voi cele care imi sunteti alaturi aici de la inceputuri, ca dintotdeauna m-am declarat pro feminitatii. Cu tot ce implica ea. La fel de bine probabil ca stiti cat de mult imi plac siluetele retro, pin-up, taliile inalte, rochiile mari, corsetele, “ochii de pisica”, lungimile mini, costumele de baie dintr-o bucata, portjartierele, samd. Imi doream de mult o rochie din aceea mare, “umflata”, cum se purtau in anii 50, insa niciodata, de cand umblu eu prin sh-uri, nu mi-a fost dat sa intalnesc asa o piesa. Dar! Ca o avida amatoare de vintage si de E-bay ce sunt, am avut bafta de a gasi crinolina aceasta de vanzare! Va jur ca in momentul in care a ajuns pachetul, topaiam prin casa ca popcornul la microunde.
Este absolut I-M-E-N-S-A, exact cum mi-am dorit-o, si e facuta din tone si tone de straturi delicioase de material, ca un tort cu multa crema intre blaturi! Arata senzational sub fustele si rochiile clos…Si mai am un pic si o halesc. Serios.

Puss In Boots

Morning ladies, hope you’re all enjoying the weekend!

EN: After taking my third exam yesterday, I took the train home and somehow, I almost managed to miss it. I arrived to the railway station about an hour early, naively thinking that 60 minutes will be more than enough to buy a ticket and get seated. Unfortunately I made the mistake of thinking that the ticket ladies behind the counters can actually move. Anyway, the train was like 6 minutes away from leaving and I was near the ticket booth (at first there were twenty-some people ahead of me in line), now with only two ladies in front of me. So I had two options: either I patiently stay in line, lose the train and waste my next few hours languishing the railway station, OR put on my best Puss in Boots face to get the ladies ahead of me to take pity on me and let me buy a bloody ticket. I felt a little embarrassed but it worked. With the help of divine intervention, I somehow managed to buy a ticket. Then I started to run like crazy. And in the very last minute I caught the train. Ta-da!
It was totally worth it, as I’m now writing this post from my comfy bed. It's so good to be back home in my own bed, with my own fat cats and home cooked meals! So so good, I could happily live off those forever!
Anyway, I still have a project that I need to ~~start~~ finish till Monday when I’ll get back to college. Up until then, I think I'm gonna hit a few thrift shops this morning, hopefully I’ll find some goodies!

Oh, and before I forget, I just wanted to say thank you all for your movie recommendations! I haven’t seen them all yet but I’m working on that :)

RO: Dupa ce mi-am dat cel de-al treilea examen ieri, am plecat spre Gara de Nord in ideea de a lua trenul catre casa. Si aproape ca l-am pierdut.
Am ajuns cu vreo ora mai devreme in gara, in naivitatea mea gandindu-ma ca 60 de minute sunt mai mult decat suficiente sa iau un bilet si sa ma urc in vagon. Din pacate nu am luat in calcul specificul moscait al duduilor de la casele de bilete si nici faptul ca era vineri. Vineri inseamna aproape mereu cozi infernale si toate ghiseele ocupate, si cum ieri nu a fost o exceptie, ce sa vezi, gara era full. Ma asez la coada, vreo 20-25 de persoane in fata mea. Aia de la ghiseu descanta biletele. Sau statea la cafea. Nu stiu ce D-zeu facea dar ce facea, facea incet. Stau ce stau, incep sa ma apropii de casa…mai erau vreo 6 minute pana sa plece trenul. Cu vreo 10 minute inainte, ma resemnasem, ma gandeam ca e aproape imposibil sa-l mai prind pe asta si ca va trebui sa-l astept pe urmatorul. Insa intamplarea a facut ca mai erau doar doua doamne in fata mea, si daca mi-ar fi dat voie, as mai fi avut o sansa sa-l prind. Asa ca am avut doua optiuni: ori stau cuminte la coada, pierd trenul si apoi o ard aiurea cu boschetarii prin gara, ORI imi pun fata de Puss in Boots si ma duc sa ma milogesc de cei doi inamici din fata mea. Mi-a fost cam jena dar a tinut manevra. Cumva cu ajutorul interventiei divine, am reusit sa cumpar un nenorocit de bilet. Dupa care am inceput sa alerg disperata, ferm convinsa ca linia e la mama dracului departe de mine si ca mai am foarte putin timp la dispozitie. Intr-adevar departe era, dar am reusit in ultimul minut sa-l prind. Cred ca am fost ultima urcata si oricum, dupa ce am pus piciorul in tren, a trebuit sa traversez vreo 5 vagoane pana am ajuns la cel la care chiar aveam eu loc. Ta-da!
S-a meritat totusi, avand in vedere ca acum va scriu din patul meu comod de acasa. E asa de bine in propriul meu pat, cu proprii mei pisici grasi si cu niste mancare gatita (a se citi comestibila)! As putea sa stau asa tot timpul:D Bineinteles insa ca n-o sa stau, am de ~~inceput~~ terminat un proiect pana Luni cand ma intorc in Bucuresti. Pana atunci insa, cred ca ma duc prin sh-uri sa vad care-i treaba. Sper sa prind ceva bunatati!

Ah, si inainte sa uit, vroiam sa va multumesc pentru sugestiile din postarea anterioara cu privire la filme! Am inceput sa vad din ele, inca nu le-am terminat pe toate, dar lucrez la asta :D

Lu-ella, ella, ella

EN: Spent some of my time today wandering around a shopping centre and braving out the sales. For me, generally speaking, January shopping is carnage on my wallet. But, “lucky for me”, these days I’m totally broke. Sigh.
I’ve seen so many amazing things today(and some amazing deals)! Tried on a few. And…left bare-handed.
As you probably know, because I guess I complained enough times, I’m not a big fan of Zara. In my opinion, their prices are way too high for the quality they offer and besides that, I find it very unindividual. I mean, everybody shops there! It’s actually hard to find someone who doesn’t own at least one Zara garament (including myself). That being said, today I went to Zara and thought I’m gonna die if I don’t leave the store with most of the items for sales. I survived, don’t worry. But I’m still thinking about some sequin thingies that will probably haunt me tonight.

About the outfit…I’m wearing a Primark skirt, a Luella sweater, Deichmann boots, vintage bag and necklace, vintage Givenchy earrings, vintage Escada belt and some no name bracelets.

RO: Astazi mi-am petrecut o parte din zi invartindu-ma in jurul magazinului Unirea, suferind si facand eroic fata reducerilor. Pentru mine in general, luna Ianuarie cu preturile pe care le implica, inseamna macel contra portofelului. “Norocul” meu ca de data asta sunt mai mult decat falita. Suspin.
Am vazut multe lucruri frumoase astazi (unele din ele chiar avantajoase)! Am si probat cateva. Si-am plecat cu mana goala.
Dupa cum probabil stiti, pentru ca am senzatia ca m-am plans de suficiente ori, nu ma omor dupa Zara. In opinia mea, au preturi muuuuuult prea mari pentru calitatea pe care o ofera si pe langa asta, mi se pare foarte neindividual. Adica, toata lumea se imbraca de acolo! E chiar greu sa gasesti pe cineva care n-are macar o singura eticheta a brandului asta (inclusiv eu). Acestea fiind spuse, am intrat azi in Zara si-am zis ca intru in coma daca nu ies de acolo macar cu 70% din ce aveau la reducere. Cu tot dezaprobiul meu fata de ei, am vazut mult prea multe lucruri dragute care mi-au placut. In special unele pline de paiete, care cel mai probabil ca ma vor bantui la noapte.
Nu va mai spun ce am vazut si la celelalte magazine ca deja devine dureros. Simtiti durerea, simtiti?

Despre tinuta…port o fusta de la Primark (Atmosphere mai exact, luata din mini prix acum ceva vreme), pulover Luella, cizme Deichmann, geanta si colier vintage, cercei vintage Givenchy, curea vintage Escada si niste bratari no name.

EN: I’m currently wrapped in my super fluffy bathrobe, with a hot chocolate in my left hand, absolutely not enjoying the idea of going to classes today. I spent most of my night working on getting some crappy paper ready for today, therefore now I feel super tired. I would much more prefer to hibernate with my big mug of hot drink, some chocolate and a few tv serials to watch, thank you very much.I should probably mention that these photos weren't taken today, since right now I’m pretty incapable of putting an outfit together without ending up looking like Lurch."Sexy" that is.
Anyway, found this coat in a thrift store while browsing for some shirts and so glad I tried it on! I guess I like it because it’s totally different from what I usually wear and…because it reminds me a bit of this guy. Sexy Lurch once…sexy Gadget twice…sold!
I’m also wearing a silk pussy bow shirt and my Kenzo brocard pants which I still love. I admit they have a strange length but I really like the fabric they are made from!
And once again…I need a cut, my hair grows so damn fast!

RO: Cum scriu asta, sunt bagata toata intr-un halat pufos, incaltata cu botosi d’aia de burete, in mana stanga cu o cana de ciocolata calda si cu un chef maxim de nemers la cursuri astazi. Mi-am petrecut cam toata noaptea scriind la un referat (pe care evident ca l-am lasat pe ultima suta de metri) iar acum ma simt super obosita. As prefera sa raman acasa cu niste ciocolata, halba de ceva cald si niste seriale, daca se poate. Se poate? Nu, normal ca nu. Trebuie sa ma duc sa predau dracia.

In fine, am gasit haina asta in timp ce cautam niste camasi intr-un sh si tare ma bucur ca am probat-o! Initial m-am uitat putin stramb la ea, nefiind ceva ce port in mod normal…Dar cred ca din cauza asta imi si place. Si ma rog, imi aduce aminte si de nenea asta. Sexy Lurch o data…sexy Gadget de doua ori…adjudecat!
Port de asemenea o camasa de matase cu funda si pantalonii mei de brocard Kenzo pe care inca ii iubesc. Mda, recunosc ca au o lungime ciudatica dar imi place foarte mult materialul din care sunt facuti si talia inalta!
Si din nou…trebuie sa ma tund, imi creste parul extrem de repede!

EN: I still can't quite believe the holidays are over and it’s already January. They just went by so fast! I've gotten so lazy and lethargic since being home for the Christmas break and now, as I’m back to college and my exams are almost here, I feel extremely stressed and overwhelmed. Needless to say, projects are pilling up and (starting today) most of my time will be spent studying boring subjects. Yay for lots to do and no time to do it!

RO: Inca nu-mi vine sa cred ca s-au incheiat sarbatorile si deja e Ianuarie. Cand naibii au trecut?!? De cand am fost in vacanta de Craciun am devenit o lenesa si-o letargica, animata doar de ideea bunatatilor de rontait si a somnului, iar acum ca m-am intors in Bucuresti si examenele bat la usa, ma simt coplesita si extrem de stresata. Mda, era de asteptat. Nu mai e nevoie sa spun ca s-au adunat proiecte (care, soc, trebuie facute), am de citit tampenii, si, incepand de astazi si pana in Februarie, majoritatea timpului meu va fi petrecut invatand. Splendid.

So now that I complained, let’s move on to the outfit shall we! I went pretty crazy with coat shopping this last year…Especially at Topshop. This is probably one of my favourites that I’ve worn in a while: it’s made of the most perfect soft, thick fabric, it has a gorgeous shape with the most adorable circle skirt that makes me wanna twirl every single time I wear it, it chinches at the waist, it’s red and it also has the sweetest brown faux fur collar! What more to ask?!?

Ok, need to get back to unpacking now…

P.S. Speaking of Topshop, have you seen their latest collection? So far I’m not very impressed with them but I’m super excited about what River Island is promising for spring!

Bun. Acum ca m-am plans suficient, sa vedem si ce-i cu pozele. In 2011 mai mult ca oricand, m-am axat pe cumpararea hainilor de iarna, 4 dintre ele fiind de la Topshop (cum e si asta). Dintre toate, dansa cred ca imi place cel mai mult. E cea mai feminina si mai dragalasa dintre ele, materialul e foarte moale si gros, croiala ma incanta enorm prin fusta aceea clos ce ma face sa vreau sa ma invart de fiecare data cand o port, e cambrata pe talie, e rosie si mai are si gulerasul detasabil din blana. Ce as putea sa mai cer?!?

Ok gata, trebuie sa ma intorc la despachetat… Uf.

P.S. Ca tot veni vorba de Topshop, ati vazut ultima lor colectie? Nu sunt foarte impresionata de ce au pus deocamdata pe site, insa ma super entuziasmeaza lookbookul River Island pentru primavara. Si din fericire, au inceput sa livreze si la noi… Yuppy!

EN: I only slept like 2 hours last night so today I woke up really late, washed, drank a big coffee cup, and got dressed in approximately 5 minutes (be proud, people). I decided to wear this new velvet playsuit that I got as a Christmas gift from my mom - new things always look good to me for some reason. I think this is the cutest thing she ever bought for me, I can’t even put into words how much I like the crocheted collar and how lovely the soft velvet feels on my skin! The fit is really nice, it cinches at the waist and flares out over the hips, making it perfect for everyday wear or to dress up in the evening. Oh, and did I mentioned the pretty collar? Yes, I love it. You never would've guessed, I’m sure.
Anyway, at first I tried to take the photos indoors (pic 5 and 6). It proved to be more tricky than I thought, so I failed (yey! wasting my time is always such a joy) and had to bribe my brother to take them from me. Not really bribe though, more like a reward. So we went into town and had a lovely hot chocolate drink, then we popped into my favourite thrift shops (where the racks and shelves were almost empty-so sad) and tried on a few tops. Didn’t really buy anything, just eyed a lot of ludicrously overpriced stuff in some other shops, and later on we stopped to take these shots.
Also, I was one super happy lady today as my latest order from Topshop arrived. Can't wait to show you guys what i got!

RO: Am dormit azi noapte vreo 2 ore maxim, asa ca m-am culcat peste zi, m-am trezit foarte tarziu, m-am spalat, am baut o ditai cana de cafea (ca sa ma asigur ca nici in noaptea asta nu dorm) si m-am imbracat in aproximativ 5 minute (sper ca sunteti mandre de mine). M-am hotarat sa port aceasta salopeta noua din catifea primita cadou de la mama de Craciun-parca intotdeauna am mai multa tragere de inima catre lucrurile noi, nu stiu de ce. Cred ca e cel mai dragut lucru pe care mi l-a cumparat vreodata, nici nu pot sa descriu in cuvinte cat imi place gulerasul crosetat si cat de placut se simte catifeaua pe piele. (Vezi mama, imi place. Poti sa mai imi iei). Sta aseazata foarte bine pe corp, cambrata pe talie si usor “evazata” peste solduri. Ah, si v-am zis ceva de gulerasul dragalas? Da, imi place. N-ati fi ghicit niciodata, sunt sigura.
Am incercat mai intai sa fac pozele singura in casa, cu trepied si telecomanda (poza 5 si 6) si bineinteles, am esuat fulminant (ah, ce-mi place cand imi pierd timpul aiurea). Pana la urma a trebuit sa-mi mituiesc fratele ca sa-l scot afara din casa si sa mi le faca el. Ma rog, mai mult o recompensa decat mita. Am mers in oras, am baut o ciocolata calda buna, l-am tarat prin cateva shuri sa vedem care-i situatia (foarte trist, n-au mai bagat marfa dupa anul nou si deci rafturile erau complet goale) si apoi am probat cateva bluze in alte magazine. N-am cumparat nimic pana la urma, doar am pus ochii pe niste lucruri ridicol de scumpe si mai tarziu ne-am oprit ca sa facem pozele acestea.
Ah, si am topaiat cu o duduie super fericita astazi, cand, dupa lupte seculare si trafic postal la menopauza, comanda mea Topshop a ajuns. Aplauze.
Abia astept sa va arat ce-am comandat!

How the leopard got his spots

EN: As you have probably noticed, leopard print has slowly gained a special place in my heart. And to my boyfriend's dismay, an increasing number of hangers in my closet.
There’s something just so irresistibly appealing about brown spots…so quirky, so fun, so sexy, so luxurious and so…brown! I love to see them worn together with some green or red, which are both colors I’m totally digging lately.
I bought this light-as-a-feather-made-of-the-most-fishiest-sort-of-fabric dress from H&M, a while ago. On its own, it hugs my body beautifully, but while I do like that, I find it a bit too “revealing” for daywear. So I decided to pair it with one of my mom’s trusty blazers and the comfiest pair of booties I currently own. I know you probably think I’m insane to go out wearing ONLY this, but trust me, somewhere hidden in the background, there was a thick coat (It’s winter so I’m always armed with a coat and a chunky scarf)

RO: Probabil ati observat si voi ca in ultimul timp, leopard printul a castigat un loc special in inima mea. La pachet cu un numar ascendent de umerase in dulap, spre exasperarea prietenului meu.
E ceva la imprimeul asta ce mie mi se pare ingrozitor de atractiv (iar lui doar ingrozitor)…petele maronii, atat de excentrice, de vesele, de sexy, de luxoase si…soc, de maro. Imi place foarte mult juxtapunerea lor cu verde sau rosu, doua dintre culorile care ma atrag in mod deosebit.
Am luat rochia asta facuta-din-cel-mai-dubios-si-subtire-material-posibil acum vreo 2 luni din H&M. Imi imbratiseaza corpul frumos si se aseaza bine, insa, desi imi place chestia asta, este putin cam mulata pentru purtare in amiaza mare, de una singura. O cerea, ma ruga frumos de mult, iar eu ma tot feream sa o port…pana cand am alaturat-o sacoului asta rosu de la mama si celor mai comode botine ever. Ma gandesc ca probabil aveti senzatia ca sufar de dementa patologica daca ies afara purtand DOAR asta, insa, pe cuvant de pionier, ca undeva in fundal, zace ascunsa o haina groasa, data jos de dragul pozelor.

Have you made any new year resolutions? I for one, I don’t do that anymore, as I always find myself incapable of achieving my ~~unrealistic~~ goals. I’ve never been one to have much willpower with this sort of things and besides that, I believe we don’t need a new year to change or improve who we are. We should celebrate a new US whenever we want and as often as often as we choose. Yes, change is difficult, despite the "quick and without any effort" claims of motivational speakers and self-help books but there is no need to wait for the beginning of a new year. Start today. ( January 2 today-bad timing, I know)

V-ati stabilit rezolutii de an nou? Eu una m-am lasat de sportul asta, fiind permanent incapabila sa-mi ating telurile ~~nerealiste~~ propuse cu ocazia aceasta. N-am dovedit niciodata prea multa vointa cu astfel de lucruri si pe langa asta, am ajuns la concluzia ca nu avem nevoie de un nou an, de o noua zi sau de un “maine” ca sa schimbam sau sa imbunatatim cine suntem. Da, schimbarea e dificila, in ciuda povetelor si metodelor pe sistem de “pierde 20 de kg in 3 zile, mancand untura cu zahar pe paine”, dar daca iti doresti cu tarie, asteptarea unui an nou e doar un pretext inutil si o motivatie falsa, dupa parerea mea. Incepe azi. (Draci, stiu ca e 2 Ianuarie si deci inceput de an-sincronizare nasoala, ce sa fac)

EN: I have short hair, I love it and because of that, during winter, I'm pretty much obsessed with head scarves. This one I’m wearing is my favourite of all time and it’s actually a band you tie around your waist (worn previously here, with the vintage Louis Feraud dress it came with). It looks great with every outfit , super easy to do and very wearable.

RO: Am parul scurt, imi place parul meu scurt si din cauza asta, in timpul iernii, am devenit destul de obsedata de esarfele legate in jurul capului. Cea pe care o port aici este preferata mea din toate timpurile. Ea defapt ar fi un fel de centura de legat in jurul taliei (poate va aduceti aminte de postarea aceasta in care am purtat-o cu rochia vintage Louis Feraud de la care provine). Arata bine cu orice, e usor de legat si foarte purtabila.

The coat I’m wearing is something vintage I recently bought from the thrift store. At first, I thought it was too big for me, it was only after trying it on that I realized how much I like it! I’m not very sure but I suspect it came from the 70’s (I’m seriously thinking of writing an article about dating vintage. Let me know in the comments section if you would like something like that!)

I’m wearing a vintage coat, bag and head scarf, Stradivarius jeans, a C&A scarf and New Yorker jewellery.

Haina pe care o port am descoperit-o recent intr-un sh. Am cumparat-o desi am crezut initial ca e prea mare pentru mine. Am probat-o (ceea ce o smecherie, avand in vedere ca foarte rar probez ce cumpar din shuri- nu de alta, dar nu stiu cat e de igienic) si gata, m-am indragostit de croaiala gen pelerina si-am luat-o acasa s-o iubesc si s-o inghesui in dulap. Nu sunt foarte sigura, dar la cum o vad eu asa, judecand dupa etichete, cusaturi si perioada in care a functionat firma ce a produs-o, suspectez ca e de prin anii 70. Apropo, ma gandesc serios sa incerc sa scriu un articol despre datarea pieselor vintage(pe romaneste: ce e vintage, ce nu e si daca e, de cand e). Nimic foarte elaborat, doar niste informatii simple, acumulate din ce-am citit, din ce-am vazut si ce-am simtit, referitor la “problema” asta care pe mine una, ma seaca ori de cate ori aduc acasa ceva ce pare mai in varsta decat mine :) Amatoare? Anuntati-ma daca e cineva care doreste sau pofteste:P

Haina, geanta si esarfa de pe cap sunt vintage, jeansii sunt de la Stradivarius, esarfa roz e cumparata din C&A iar bijuteriile din New Yorker.

RO: Caci pana si in toiul iernii, si chiar si-n ciuda temperaturilor polare, rochiile bombonicioase imi merg la inima in feluri mult prea greu de exprimat pentru cineva guvernat de sadism contra propriei persoane (adica eu, duduia care ieri a crezut ca va muri congelata). EN: I’m not very sure why, but I hate leather pants/leggings and love them at the same time. Possibly because, these past few years I’ve seen tons and tons of fur vests paired with black leather (raise your hand if you’re tired of that combo too!) and now…they bore me. And yet…here I am…wearing faux leather leggings.

RO: Nu sunt foarte sigura de ce, dar ma enerveaza si imi plac in acelasi timp, pantalonii/leggingsi de piele. Ma enerveaza probabil pentru ca am vazut in ultimii ani tone si tone de veste de blana alaturate pielii negre pe picioare (sa ridice mana cine s-a saturat de combinatia asta!), iar acum…ma cam plictisesc. Si totusi…ete ca port. Leggingsi din ceva ce nu e piele, dar seamana a piele.

Canary yellow

EN: Got this vintage Louis Feraud when I purchased that blue Thierry Mugler blazer (definitely a good day for thrifting!) and I never wore it because: 1) when I bought it, the weather was way too hot for such a skirt and 2) after the weather has cooled down, I was anxious to play with layers and thick knits. So my pretty canary yellow LF skirt was left on the hanger with no one to play with her. So sad.
Anyway, a while ago I had some shopping to do so I figured I should wear it before the ice age strucks again.

Worn here with a vintage blouse and belt, a Zara trench coat, Stradivarius boots, vintage Chanel bag and some random jewellery.

RO: Am luat fusta aceasta vintage Louis Feraud in ziua in care am cumparat si sacoul albastru Thierry Mugler (clar o zi buna pentru thrifting!) si n-am purtat-o pana recent pentru ca: 1) cand am luat-o, era exagerat de cald afara si deci imposibil de suportat pe piele, si 2) dupa ce s-a potolit caldura, mi-a venit pofta de straturi si tricotaje groase. Si uite asa, fusta mea galben canar LF a ramas “cel mai prost din curtea scolii”, fara niciun copil dornic sa se joace cu ea. Ce trist.
Ma rog, acum ceva vreme, am avut niste treaba prin Afi si m-am gandit ca daca tot ma paste zapadalaul si era glaciara e pe vine, ar fi o idee buna sa o scot la aer.

Purtata aici cu o bluza si o curea vintage, un trench Zara, cizme Stradivarius, geanta vintage Chanel si niste bijuterii oarecare (H&M, vintage si New Yorker).

Confessions of a shoe addict

EN: Hello, my name is Andreea and I’m a shoe addict.
I belive that there is no such thing as owning too many pairs of shoes. And I really have no idea how many I own.
I have shoes in my closet that I have only worn once and yes, I have shoes in my closet that I’ve never worn at all.
I tend to buy ridiculously uncomfortable shoes for no good reason other than I like them and they make me feel good about myself. Cause the way I see it, if I feel good I do good.
Yes, I know all about the damage high heels can do to my spine, bla bla bla but unfortunately i just can’t resist to a pretty 6 inches heel. And I’m so not looking for a cure of it.
So, given my endless love for shoes, it’s pretty obvious that I was super excited when I was asked to take these gold IL PASSO babies home with me and test their versatility.
I put together two outfits, both glamorous and opulent, perfect for the holidays.

RO: Buna, numele meu este Andreea si sunt dependenta de pantofi.
Nu cred in sintagma conform careia o femeie poate avea prea multe perechi de pantofi. Si chiar habar n-am cate detin.
Am perechi in dulap pe care nu le-am purtat de cat o data si da, am si perechi pe care nu le-am purtat nici macar o data.
Am tendinta de a cumpara pantofi excesiv de incomozi doar de dragul de a-i avea, pentru ca imi incanta ochiul si pentru ca ma fac sa ma simt bine cand ii incalt. Pentru ca in mintea mea, daca ma simt bine, fac bine (stiu, suna cretin in romaneste, e vorba despre acel “if I feel good I do good”)
Si da, stiu si despre toate teoriile care sustin ca tocurile inalte sunt nasoale pentru coloana si ca o sa anchilozez, bla bla bla :-@:-@:-@ bla. Bla. Bla. Prea tarziu insa, chiar nu-mi pasa si chiar nu caut vindecare.
Asadar, luand in considerare situatia, pasiunea si piticii de pe creier, va dati seama ce super incantata am fost cand am primit perechea aceasta aurie de la IL PASSO. Sa o iau acasa, sa o iubesc, sa o testez, sa o invelesc si s-o tin departe de pisicii mancatori de pantofi:-w
Ca tot sunt sarbatorile si imi imaginez ca nu toata lumea stie ce sa poarte, am creat doua tinute folosind aceiasi pereche de pantofi, ambele luxoase si opulente, cum imi place mie.

The first one is my interpretation of a new year’s eve outfit. I chose a green fitted dress, something like a Herve Leger (well, mine it’s obviously not a Herve but a Debe. Debenhams I mean), lots of jewellery and a small, round clutch bag big enough to keep some money, my cell phone and a lipstick.
To keep the look glamorous and sophisticated I would suggest wearing a faux-fur/fur coat on top.

Prima este o varianta pentru revelion. Am ales o rochie mulata verde, ceva in genul Herve Leger. Bine, a mea nu e Herve, e Debe.
Da ma bineeeee, Debenhams. Vroiam sa par si eu mai rafinata :-@
Am asezonat cu bijuterii multe in aceiasi culoare ca si pantofii (ca un pont, metalicele merg cu orice) si am ales o geanta mica, rotunda, suficient de incapatoare pentru niste bani, telefonul mobil si un ruj.
Pe deasupra as sugera purtarea unui blani artificiale sau naturale, cum vreti voi, pentru a mentine trasatura luxoasa.

For my second outfit I used harem pants (I know you love them), a vintage pussy bow shirt and a printed blazer with big gold buttons. Added a statement belt, a bag, some jewellery and the IL PASSO shoes and you’re set.

A doua tinuta este ceva mai simpla si mai purtabila dar fara a-i lipsi opulenta despre care vorbeam mai sus. Ma rog, nu stiu daca purtabil este cel mai potrivit cuvant, pantalonii harem nu sunt pentru oricine insa ce vreau sa punctez este ca, spre deseobire de prima tinuta, aceasta merge zi de zi. Cum spuneam, am folosit pantaloni harem Bershka, o camasa vintage cu funda si un sacou cu imprimeu si nasturi mari aurii. Am adaugat o curea statement, cateva bijuterii, ochelari, pantofii IL PASSO si gata. Desigur, in functie de mediu si de temperaturi, se cere ceva pe deasupra :)

Sper sa va placa propunerile mele si sa-mi fie cu iertare pozele facute in casa:D O raceala urata nu m-a lasat sa defilez in rochie prin centrul orasului, unde aveam initial de gand sa fac pozele.

Unul dintre motivele pentru care am deschis blogul acesta, pe langa cele evidente cum ar fi sa cer preaslavire, adoratie, contemplare, idolatrizare si veneratie eterna, sa fac bani din reclame, sa fiu smechera la mine in cartier, sa primesc comentarii multe care incep sau se termina cu “fataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, c3 m4rph4 3 r0kitz4 4st44444”, sa fiu luata la misto de toti absolventii de 4 clase din tara Romania (sau de doctorat, nu-ti trebuie neaparat ciclu primar ca sa fii prost), sa primesc lectii de gramatica de la cititorii de Kant, Schopenhauer si Nietzsche (hai si Proust in pauza de masa), sa o ard intru divenie cu gura intredeschisa si ochi mijiti de pitipoanca in toate portretele, si asa mai departe, este (despre motiv vorbeam ca de acolo am plecat) sa postez cu ce ma intolesc. In general, daca ati observat, tinutele mele se recomanda ca a fi demne de amuzamentul celor mai fini cunoscutori intr-ale vesmintelor: ma refer desigur, fara sa generalizez, la mancatorii de pufuleti cu surprize si chipsuri cu ceapa pe strada, la sunculoase ragaitoare de mici in troleu, cu ochelari de soare in club si bot roz, la leopardite, la tigroaice, la tipologiile pe sistem de sanziene, adeline, biance si daniele, o intreaga menajerie placuta romanului de zi cu zi, pe care, si eu la randumi, il plac nespus. De placut, ma place si el. Are grija sa mi-o spuna frecvent. Cam ca atunci cand ma tavalesc in chinuri, plangand ca o bocitoare profesionista pe masura remuneratiei, pentru ca, ghici ce, una dintre cititoarele de Kant despre care vorbeam mai sus, considera potrivit sa ma informeze ca nu e bine ce fac pe blogul meu. La dracu, doar e al meu…de ce oi fi facand ce vreau eu si nu altii, nu pot sa-mi explic. Cred ca tine de fizica cuantica raspunsul.
Si de ce oi fi purtat ochelari cu lentile de plastic, iarasi nu pot sa-mi explic. Probabil ca sa ma ia baetii de pe strada la misto si lasele conectate la net la comentarii anonime.

Zen sunt, zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. Pana la un punct. Orice are o limita. Inclusiv rabdarea mea :)
O seara frumoasa va doresc!
Iar la urmatoarea postare cred ca scriu despre incalzirea globala. Sau cum sa salvam pinguinii. Daca aveti recomandari de subiecte mai banale sau mai cu ifose de atat, prestati comentariu va rog.

P.S. In caz ca va intrebati de ce prefer in general sa pastrez textele de genul acesta doar in limba romana, sa spunem ca strainezii sunt prea necopti ca sa inteleaga. That line was the first thing that popped into my mind after downloading these photos from my camera. The thing is, they were taken a few days ago when the weather was pretty springy here in Romania (although now is raining and it’s so freaking cold!) so I thought I should take advantage of what could possibly be the last warm days here before spring arrives. I noticed I haven’t worn dresses in a while so I figured it was time for pulling out the big guns and go mini in this cute Asos number. Worn with a silk vintage robe, no name wedges and bag, some old suede gloves and a New Yorker beanie.

Schimbul de replici de mai sus a fost primul lucru ce mi-a venit in minte cand descarcam pozele astea. Stiu ca e inca Decembrie (deci iarna) si ca acum ploua de rupe (deci e un frig canceros afara) dar zilele trecute vremea a fost relativ primavaratica, soare, fara vant, placut… M-am gandit deci, ca sunt sanse mari sa nu mai pup asa temperaturi pana in Martie-Aprilie si ca ar fii pacat sa nu profit. Mers la dulap, scos una bucata rochie (ca tot n-am mai purtat demult…nu stiu de ce, m-am profilat mai mult pe fuste decat rochii in ultimul timp), imbracat, trantit ceva pe deasupra, bam bam bam cateva accesorii si gata. Si serios ca n-am inghetat. Rochia e de la ASOS, haina de deasupra (care habar n-am ce este dar mama o considera halat:-w) e ceva vintage din matase, pantofii, geanta si manusile sunt no name iar bascuta e luata din New Yorker.

Stati la caldura, dragelor. Maine-poimaine ne trezim cu ditai zapada si nu stiu de voi, dar eu o sa fiu ocupata cu hibernarea.

Cause there's no place like home

EN: If I were a hypocrite, I would probably tell you that I was really busy these past few days. Or that I was sick. Or that my computer got sick. And so on and so on. The truth is, I haven’t posted in a while because… I wasn’t in the mood. I enjoyed a looooong weekend (maybe too long), away from Bucharest but home, with my family. Of course, you can guess what happened there: food orgy, lots of thrifting ( and it was worth it!), shopping, gifts, long walks, same loud music from across the street, fat cats, cold pastry cafes, all in all a lovely atmosphere that makes me nostalgic now that I’m back in Bucharest…

RO: Dac-as fi ipocrita v-as spune ca am avut multa treaba zilele trecute. Sau ca am fost bolnava. Sau ca a facut varicela calculatorul meu. Si tot asa si tot asa. Adevarul este ca n-am mai postat de atatea zile pentru ca…n-am avut chef. M-am bucurat de un weekend poate prea prelungit, afara din Bucuresti, si m-am dus acasa, la parinti. Acolo bineinteles: orgie culinara, smardoiala cu pensionarii la sh (muhaha, veti vedea in poze ca s-a meritat:D), cumparaturi, cadouri, plimbari, aceleasi manele la carciuma de peste drum, pisici grasi, cofetarii unde nu se da drumul la caldura (probabil sa tina mai mult prajiturile), 3 beculete ratacite prin copaci (cica sarbatori, aer festiv alea alea:>) si per total o atmosfera calda dupa care tanjesc acum ca am revenit in Bucuresti…

A few weeks ago I got for testing some new hair products from Newtone. I received in the package: shampoo, conditioner, a lotion with antibacterial and regenerating action and a package of fortifying capsules that act against hair loss, stimulate hair growth and fortify the structure of hair and fingernails.
I have normal to oily hair, so, for me, the most important thing to check when I buy a new shampoo, is how quickly does my hair get oily. Anyway, I was pretty satisfied to notice that these products don’t make it greasy, they smell really good (especially the conditioner, it’s pink and smells like candy!), the hair is shiny and looks healthy. That’s why I kept using them:)

Acum cateva saptamani am primit pentru testare gama Newtone de ingrijire a parului, ambalata frumos intr-o cutie si care continea: sampon, balsam, lotiune cu actiune antibacteriana si regeneratoare, plus un supliment de vitamine Entovit ce actioneaza impotriva caderii parului, stimuleaza cresterea parului, fortifica structura firelor de par si a unghiilor.
Bon. Parul meu este normal spre gras, inainte sa ma tund scurt chiar si cadea destul de mult, am firul subtire si moale, iar pentru mine, criteriul de selectionare al unui sampon e pe baza de “mi se ingrasa parul repede sau nu?” Nu am avut probleme, nu mi s-a ingrasat parul, nu mi-au aparut iritatii, balsamul e roz si miroase a bomboane de-ti vine sa-l mananci, parul straluceste si e fluffy asa cum imi place mie dupa spalare, si deci da, pe baza criteriilor astora, am folosit produsele de atunci la fiecare samponare (cu mari eforturi de a nu baga botul in balsam:D)

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die

EN: I’ve been wearing these boots for the past 3 days. I usually like changing my shoes every day, mostly because I don’t wear the same style two days in a row and I like doing the opposite of what I previously did. So to speak, if today I’m dressed like a naphthalene smelling granny, it’s quite possible that tomorrow I’ll be rocking leather pants, motorcycle boots and creepy jewellery.
Anyway, the point is I’m crazy about these boots. They are super comfy and they have a lot of fun going on because of that catchy color. I’ve already worn them above and below the knee with mini skirts and dresses and I decided to give them a go also with skinny jeans. As you may recall, I’m not a big fan of skinnies and so far it seemed impossible for me to find a flawless pair, but I really like the way they look with vintage blazers! Especially with the cropped ones, with big shoulderpads. Clearly I'm obsessed with them but really, how many do I need? Answer: every single one I find. That was a trick question. Haha

RO: Port cizmele astea de 3 zile incontinuu. De obicei nu port aceiasi incaltaminte 2 zile la rand, in principiu pentru ca abordez stiluri diferite de la o zi la alta si imi place sa ma duc exact in directia opusa a ceea ce am purtat anterior. Ca sa spun asa, daca azi sunt imbracata ca o mamaie mirositoare a naftalina, maine e foarte probabil sa ma prezint in pantaloni de piele, cizme de motociclist si bijuterii creepy.
Ma rog, ideea este ca imi plac mult cizmele astea. Sunt foarte comode si ochioase prin culoare si deja le-am purtat deasupra si sub genunchi cu fuste si rochii mini. De data asta am ales sa le cobor la nivel de botine si sa le port cu jeansi skinny. Daca va aduceti aminte, nu sunt o iubitoare a jeansilor de acest fel (poate si din cauza faptului ca n-am reusit pana acum sa gasesc o pereche fara cusur) dar imi place tare mult cum vin cu ceva masiv in partea de sus, de genul sacourilor vintage! Mai ales cele scurte, pe talie, cu pernute mari la umeri. E mai mult decat evident ca sunt obsedata de ele, dar pe bune, cate mai trebuie? Raspuns: toate pe care le gasesc. Asta a fost o intrebare capcana:))

EN: Last year I remember I had a thing for capes. Websites and blogs were full of them ( normally, that should’ve made me like them less, but noooo, not this time), the shops were crammed with capes and I couldn’t decide to buy one or not. I almost got a pretty, camel one from ASOS but it didn’t happen since I was a bit too sceptical about the fabric made almost entirely from polyester. Anyway, by the time I finally decided to buy, there was no winter left and my enthusiasm perished.
So a few weeks ago I went thrifting. The store was pretty big and unorganized, there were things everywhere and the sales woman seemed bored and quite rude. Anyway, I walked inside and started digging through Hawaiian print shirts, ugly dresses from the 90’s, mens checked jackets and ragged H&M t-shirts… nothing promising on the horizon. I got disappointed and wanted to leave. I slipped through the racks and as I wanted to get out, I suddenly spotted something red that looked so much like a cape, hung up near the counter. My first thought was that maybe it’s not for sale since the saleswoman kept it “hidden” behind the counter. However, I asked her about it and I was pleased to find out that not only it was for sale but she also gave me a discount! I paid, she wrapped it, I said goodbye, she didn’t respond and that was that. Now I have a pretty red cape:D
Should I mention that I bought it 20 times cheaper than on ASOS? I think not:))

RO: Mi-aduc aminte ca anul trecut aveam un fix cu pelerinele. Cautam online, cautam prin magazine, blogurile erau pline (ceea ce insemna ca in mod normal ar fii trebuit sa-mi piara entuziasmul, insa nu, ma incapatanam tot mai tare ca vreau una), ma tot suceam si razgandeam cu gandul la a cumpara o blestemata de pelerina. Vazusem ceva interesant la ASOS si-mi aduc aminte ca era si la reduceri intr-un timp, insa nu m-am incumetat fiindca mi se paruse mult prea scumpa pentru o compozitie majoritar formata din polyester (a se citi plastic). Pana la urma a venit primavara si s-a dus dracului vremea rece cu pelerinele ei cu tot. Bon. Ma duc acum vreo doua trei saptamani intr-un sh dubios. Intru…la tejghea o cucoana sictirita (normal), dau buna ziua, nu mi se raspunde (normal) si incep sa scormonesc printre cutii, rafturi, umerase. Imi trec prin maini cateva camasi cu printuri Hawaiene, rochii cu talia joasa din materiale groase si urate, sacouri barbatesti cadrilate, tricouri de la H&M rupte…nimic promitator. Ma lamuresc rapid si ma indrept spre iesire. Cand sa ies, vanzatoarea nu mai era la tejghea. Iar in locul in care statea ea, se vedea pe un umeras ceva asa rosu dintr-o stofa groasa ce semana izbitor a pelerina. Jubilez. Ma opresc in loc brusc si ma uit dupa vanzatoare sa intreb care-i treaba cu pelerina, gandindu-ma in sinea mea ca poate nu e de vanzare din moment ce o tine dupa tejghea si cum ma targuiesc eu cu asta sa mi-o dea. Vine, imi asez un ditai ranjetul binevoitor pe fata, dau buna ziua din nou (desi eram convinsa ca m-a auzit de prima data) si intreb ce e aia, dati-mi-o incoace s-o vad:D Se intoarce, imi da haina relaxata si-mi spune ca e la reduceri ca o tine acolo de vreo 2 luni si n-a luat-o nimeni. O intorc pe toate partile, o probez si da, era intr-adevar o pelerina. “Pai de ce o tineti dupa tejghea, poate din cauza asta nu s-a vandut, n-a vazut-o nimeni”, intreb eu. Da din umeri cu acelasi sictir, ii spun sa mi-o impacheteze ca o iau, ii dau banii, iau punga si plec bine pa, te-am pupat pe buletin:D Are rost sa mai spun ca am luat-o de vreo 20 de ori mai ieftin decat cea de pe ASOS? Banuiesc ca nu:))

Thierry Mugler

EN: You know what I like the most...?? You may be tempted to say high heels or cake (or anything sugary) and you’re done, case solved:D but regardless of my other addictions, what I’m trying to point out here is that I love Thierry Mugler as much as Gollum loves his ring. I’m totally digging the way he celebrates women’s curves with his uber feminine designs, accentuating the waist and giving you that delicious hourglass figure. I don’t know, I’m one of those people who like to see hips and boobs, a waist maybe?
Anyway, so I found this Thierry Mugler blazer a while ago and I was more than thrilled to take it home with me. It’s not as fitted as I would like (it would’ve been perfect if my waist were strangled enough) but I’m too crazy about those shoulders, thus, I’ll wear it till death do us part.

RO: Stiti ce-mi place mie mult de tot…?? Ati putea fii tentate sa spuneti tocuri inalte sau prajituri (sau orice super nociv cu gust dulce) si gata, m-ati inchis:D dar lasand laoparte celelalte dependente ale mele, ce incerc eu sa spun aici, este ca imi place de Thierry Mugler cum ii placea lui Gollum de inel. Imi place felul in care evidentiaza formele corpului femeiesc cu hainele lui super cambrate (nu mulate), punand accent pe talie si exagerand soldurile sau umerii intru obtinerea siluetei acelea delicioase de clepsidra. Posibil sa am eu ceva la cap, stiu ca se fetisizeaza in draci scandura, insa, in limitele normale si sanatoase, imi place sa vad solduri si sani…poate si o talie?
Bon, deci am gasit sacoul acesta Thierry Mugler vara trecuta si-am fost mai mult decat incantata sa plec cu el acasa. Evident, romanta nu este completa. Eram mai fericita daca m-ar fii cuprins si el mai zdravan in talie, dar e suficient de mers la sala in umeri cat sa-l iubesc.

Lastly, an outfit post. I was wearing my new Topshop booties, some random jeans, a thrifted shirt and a looooong Escada cardigan that I found a while ago. I love it, keeps me really warm if I button it up.

Si in al treilea rand, cateva poze cu un outfit de acum cateva zile. Purtam noile botine Topshop, jeansi oarecare, o camasa din sh si un cardigan luuuuuuuuuuuuung Escada gasit tot acolo acum ceva timp. Imi place mult, imi tine foarte bine de cald daca-l inchei pana jos si e bun si daca vreau sa ma duc la magazin in pijamale. EN: In my mind, it’s always the bold mixtures of prints or vintage and modern, that leave the longest-lasting impression. Two ladies that never cease to amaze and inspire me, are Kelly from The Glamourai and Jane from Sea of Shoes, two personal favorites. I check their blogs daily (although they don’t have a day-to-day blogging routine) and I’ve never been dissapointed by their dazzling, bold and quirky juxtapositions that usually make me wonder “how come I never thought of this before?”. Of course, not every of their style picks fits my personality, but generally speaking, I would kill for the closets they have.
So, given my appreciation, it is only natural that I kept them in mind while putting together this outfit. The skirt I’m wearing is a vintage Guy Laroche, no name turtleneck sweater, vintage belt, earrings and clutch, H&M rings, Meli Melo sunnies and Jeffrey Campbell booties.

RO: Pentru mine, tinutele care imi atrag cel mai mult atentia si-mi raman fixate pe retina o lunga perioada de timp, sunt acelea ce combina imprimeuri diferite sau piesele vintage cu cele moderne. Iar inspiratia majora in cazul acesta porneste de la doua dintre bloggaritele mele preferate, Kelly de la The Glamourai si Jane de la Sea of Shoes. Verific blogurile lor zilnic (chiar daca nu posteaza atat de des) si nu am fost niciodata dezamagita de juxtapunerile indraznete si excentrice din tinutele lor, ce ma fac deseori sa ma intreb “cum de nu m-am gandit si eu la asta?”. Desigur, discrepante exista, insa, la modul general, mi-as dori fabulos de tare garderobele lor. Astfel ca, este lesne de inteles ca am pastrat ceva din stilul lor in minte atunci cand am pus la cale tinuta aceasta. Fusta pe care o port este una bucata vintage Guy Laroche, helanca no name, curea, cercei si poseta vintage, inele de la H&M, ochelarii Meli Melo si botinele Jeffrey Campbell.

Blue fever

EN:So this is what I wore to hang out and go shopping to buy clothes for a friend of mine a few days ago. Needless to say that by the time she got home, she didn’t like anything she’s bought anymore.

RO: Am purtat asta acum cateva zile cand am iesit cu o prietena in oras sa-si cumpere haine. Si-a cumparat. Si bineinteles ca dupa ce a ajuns acasa, nu i-a mai placut nimic din ce a luat.

In another train of thoughts…
When I first saw these boots, my first thoughts were about the aw 2011 Alberta Ferretti collection. If you remember how much I liked those velvet boots she sent down the catwalks, then I don’t have to explain my excitement at seeing these blue babies. I grabbed them off the rack, hurried to try them on and as I did, an evil grin spread across my face…The rest is history.
The mini dress I wore is something I bought a few months ago from a thrift shop and got it altered cause there was nothing mini about it at the beginning. I liked the busy pattern and the cute collar so I bought it anyway.

In alta ordine de idei…
Primul lucru care mi-a trecut prin minte atunci cand am vazut cizmele acestea, a fost colectia Alberta Ferretti toamna iarna 2011. Poate va aduceti aminte de postarea aceea in care va spuneam care sunt colectiile mele preferate pentru sezonul acesta si cum A.F. era una dintre ele, cu cizmele ei de catifea cu tot. Bineinteles ca exista diferente majore intre cele doua, dar asta nu m-a impiedicat sa tresar la ideea de catifea in jurul picioarelor mele. Le-am inhatat de pe raft, m-am repezit sa le probez si in timp ce-mi scufundam picioarele in materialul moale, un ranjet malefic mi-a aparut pe chip. Restul…e istorie.
Rochia mini pe care am purtat-o e o chestie luata acum cateva luni dintr-un sh. Nu era niciun mini la momentul cumpararii dar am luat-o oricum pentru imprimeul aglomerat si gulerul dragalas. Cu ceva ajutor de la tanti croitoreasa, am rezolvat si problema lungimii.

Seeing turtles

RO: Se pare ca aveau mai multe in comun decat JFK, haha.

As a child I used to hate wearing sweaters with high necklines, aka turtlenecks. They made me feel like choking, so, for a long time I stayed away from them and embraced the V neck with all my heart. Anyhow, now they are my winter staple, perfect for layering underneath my dresses, vests or jackets. I like them to be fitted (which I strongly recommend) and soft ( you know, to prevent the choking childhood memories), preferably with long sleeves. Dressed up right, they will make you look classy, sleek and polished and will bring your face into focus. They usually give the illusion of elongating the neck, thus turtlenecks can create a blank canvas upon which you can build your outfit and show off statement necklaces, beautiful earrings or just your pretty face:)

For my outfit, I went for a 70s-inspired look with wide legged pants and a blazer. I’m wearing H&M pants, a no name turtleneck, vintage blazer and jewellery, Topshop shoes, no name bag and Meli Melo sunnies.

In copilarie, nu uram nimic mai tare decat helancile (poate fesul pe care ma obliga mama sa-l port si pe care il indesam in ghiozdan imediat ce ma pierdea din vedere). Imi dadeau senzatia de sufocare si imi iritau gatul, motiv pentru care, dupa ce am scapat de cicalelile mamei, nu m-am mai atins de ele cativa ani buni si m-am amorezat de decolteul in V.
Acum insa, apelez la ele ori de cate ori temperaturile o iau razna in minus si ma incalzesc cu succes pe sub rochii, veste sau jachete. Imi place sa fie stranse pe corp (ceea ce va recomand si voua in cazul in care purtati) si moi (stiti voi, ca sa nu readuca amintiri neplacute cu privire la strangulare). Preferabil cu maneci lungi. Alea cu maneca scurta mi se par tembele si nu le vad rostul, cel putin pentru conformatul meu. Purtate corect (adica fara sa fie cu 3 numere mai mari si asezate peste ceva lalai, fara forma), vor crea o silueta eleganta, cizelata si atragatoare si va vor pune evidenta fata. In general dau senzatia de alungire a gatului astfel ca, helancile pot fii privite ca o panza goala pe baza careia incepeti sa va construiti sau accesorizati tinuta cu niste cercei frumosi lungi, coliere statement sau doar cu un chip placut:)

Pentru tinuta mea, am mers pe varianta inspirata din anii 70 cu pantaloni largi si un sacou. Port pantaloni H&M, helanca no name, sacou si bijuterii vintage, pantofi Topshop, geanta no name si ochelari de la Meli Melo.

So. Turtlenecks. Yay or nay?:)

EN: I will start this post by wishing a big, fat “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to Astrid Tirlea, whose birthday is today. Tons of kisses and fluffy hugs for you, my dear!
So. If you've been with this blog for a while, maybe you remember the post I wrote about my Johnny Depp cropped top (yummy Johnny, yummy) I got as gift from the Motzilov duo: Astrid and Raul. In case you didn’t know, Astrid is part of the new generation of Romanian fashion designers, she graduated with an MA degree from the University of Art & Design, Cluj-Napoca, in Romania, she has her own creation shop and she has an awesome fashion sense and personal style! (you can check out her blog here). Also, her creations were many times down the runaways, she’s eccentric, she’s funny ( I recommend reading her texts) and she’s also nice enough to send me the skirt I’m wearing in today’s post. I got the pink one, she has the blue, but generally speaking, she can make one for your too in any color or size you want. Also, she creates cute dresses, cool t-shirts, jackets, pants or skirts. She’s got them all.

RO: Postarea de astazi o incep cu un mare si gras “LA MULTI ANI!” catre Astrid Tirlea, a carei ziua este astazi. La pachet cu 3 valize de pupici si imbratisari sufocante.
Bon. Poate va aduceti aminte ca prin vara ma laudam cu tricoul meu cu Johnny Depp (bunaciune full option) primit in dar de la duoul Motzilov, format din Astrid si Raul. In caz ca nu ati auzit de ea, Astrid face parte dintr-o noua generatie de designeri, absolventa a Universitatii de Artă şi Design Cluj-Napoca, are propriul ei atelier de creatie, si mai e si foarte tare in ale stilului personal (vedeti pe blogul ei aici). Pe langa astea, Astrid si-a expus creatiile in prezentari de moda, e originala, e funny (recomand citirea textelor de pe blog, sunt amuzante si naturale) si mai e si atat de draguta cat sa-mi trimita fusta pe care o port in postarea de azi. A mea e roz, am vazut la Astrid si una pe albastru, iar pentru voi, poate face in orice culoare sau marime va pofteste coraconul. Mai face si rochite dulci, tricouri cool, jachete, pantaloni sau fuste. Pe sistemul “avem di tăti”.

EN: I love blazers. In fact, if I think about how many I currently own, that’s an understatement. Since last year my collection got bigger and bigger and will continue to grow untill I’ll have no closet space left (i never do anyway) or my mom will start throwing them out as she promised me a while ago. Evil, I’m telling ya.
So I found this cute cropped blazer while searching for some thick oversized knits in a thrift store. I liked how it had letters and exclamation points splattered all over it…and that it was only 1$. I wore it a few days ago paired with a River Island skirt, vintage belt, jewellery and scarf, Asos watch, New Yorker purse and Deichmann shoes.

RO: Imi plac mult sacourile. De fapt, daca luam in considerare cat de multe am, afirmatia anterioara paleste. De anul trecut am inceput sa le adun cu fervoare iar colectia mea s-a extins din ce in ce mai mult si va continua sa creasca pana n-o sa mai am loc deloc in dulap (ma rog, oricum n-am niciodata). Sau pana o sa mi le arunce mama in strada, dupa cum m-a amenintat mai demult. Naspa e, v-am spus eu. Am gasit bolerul acesta dragut cautand cu totul altceva intr-un sh, mai exact ma uitam dupa pulovere groase in marimi mari.. Mi-au placut literele si semnele de exclamatie de pe brate, plus…pretul de numai 3 lei. L-am purtat acum cateva zile cu o fusta River Island, curea, bijuterii si esarfa vintage, ceas Asos, poseta New Yorker si pantofi din Deichmann.

EN: I can’t even begin to explain how obsessed I was with the glitzy shoes Miuccia Prada sent down the runaway for the Miu Miu Fall 2011 show. Unfortunately they're out of my price range so there will be no Miu Miu sparkly fabulousness for me at the moment, buuuuuuut, THANK GOD for Topshop! As soon as I saw these booties I knew I had to have them…and now they are mine:D

RO: Nici nu stiu cum sa descriu cat de obsedata eram (si sunt) de incaltarile delicios de stralucitoare pe care Miuccia Prada le-a creat pentru colectia toamna iarna 2011 Miu Miu. O saptamana frumoasa va doresc!

Granny style, baby

EN: Let me introduce you to my latest granny dress. I thrifted it a few weeks ago for like 2$ and I love it. I’m not sure why I’m so attracted to clothes that make me look older than I really am. Somehow I feel my heart beating way much faster when I buy an old, mid length skirt that probabably belonged to a grandma (judging from the smell) than when I buy some itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny shiny polyester skirt from Zara. I love some of that ~~plastic~~ polyester stuff as well but nothing compares to the feeling I get whenever my mom says I look older than her. Haha. You’re evil, mom. Just kidding.
Anyway, i paired this dress with some of the most painful shoes I own. I really can’t wear them more than 3 hours (tops) and that’s without walking too much. So yeah, I’m a bit sadistic when it comes to shoes but I just can resist to a pretty bootie. And they are pretty, riiiiiiiiiiiight? <3

RO: Faceti cunostinta cu cea mai recenta rochie de bunicuta cumparata. Luata din sh acum cateva saptamani pentru vreo 6 lei. Imi place mult. Nu sunt sigura de ce ma simt atat de atrasa de hainele care ma fac sa par mai in varsta de cat sunt defapt. Cumva, entuziasmul si bucuria traita cand cumpar o vechitura care trece de genunchi si care a apartinut cine stie carei mamai (judecand dupa miros), intrece senzatia mirosului de polyester nou emanat de o fusta itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny de la Zara. Nu ca nu mi-ar place si lucrul nou facut din ~~plasticul~~ polyesterul ala dar nu se compara cu sentimentul trait atunci cand imi spune mama ca arat mai octogenara decat ea. Haha. Esti naspa, mama. Glumesc. Totusi ca sa nu ma regasesc complet in cuvintele maica mii, am incaltat la tinuta asta, una dintre cele mai ucigase parechi de pantofi pe care le detin. Nu stiu cum naibii au calapodul ala facut ca dupa 2-3 ore deja simt ca imi iau picioarele foc. Iar asta fara sa ma misc prea mult. Sunt sadica da, imi chinui talpile uneori, dar…sunt eu vinovata ca-mi plac? (inserati figura de bambi aici)

?How to wear animal prints?

EN: Today I want to discuss about animal prints. I know it’s a very common theme, extremely debated in the fashion world but still, I see a lot of people on the streets getting it wrong, wrong, wrong. I’m sure we’ve all seen those scary images where ladies were dressed head to toe in leopard print, had very long red nails, pointy boots, too much make-up or to much skin on show. Think Jordan. See what I mean? However, animal print is one of those trends that comes and go all of the time and, although is not an easy print to wear, seems to be loved by many fashionistas. Depending on how you wear it, animal print can look both tasteful and modern without being too over the top or trashy. Anyway, i for one, have only 3 leopard printed pieces in my whole closet and, I must admit, until recently I had no idea how to wear them without looking like a bimbo. So I did some research and I put together this little article to share with you guys the tips I found out. Here it goes:

RO: Vroiam sa discutam astazi despre animal print. Stiu ca e o tema arhi-dezbatuta si super cunoscuta, inclusiv in blogosfera romaneasca, dar am senzatia ca inca a ramas un subiect delicat, atat pentru mine cat si pentru altii. Impresia mi se trage prioritar de la repulsia cvasi generala (pe care obisnuiam s-o impartasesc si eu pana de curand) fata de imprimeurile “animalice” datorita unor personaje de genul celor care apar in emisiuni cancaniste: capatos, acces direct sau happy hour. Emisiuni de mare success, cu audienta fulminanta. Doar suntem in Romania. Fara sa generalizez, intelegeti genul. Mai exact, ma refer la “divele” cu probleme de dictie si exprimare, uneori cu intelect subdezvoltat, cu inclinatii accentuate spre nuditate si alte artificii, printre care imprimeul animal purtat GRESIT. Desigur, sistemul fiind democratic, avem cu totii dreptul sa ne imbracam si sa aratam cum vrem, indiferent ca unora le place si altora din contra, insa, cel putin in cazul meu, parerea vis-à-vis de imprimeurile acestea era strans legata de duduile de succes din televiziunea romaneasca. Sau de pe strada. Cred ca suntem multe care asociem imaginea leopardului cu unghiile rosii vrajitoresti, fard pana-n urechi, cizme cu bot ascutit si toc cui, decoltee prea adanci sau picioare prea expuse. Dupa cum am spus, pana de curand imi era imposibil sa scindez cele 2 imagini si sa nu stramb din nas cand vedeam cel mai mic petec dungat de zebra. Bun, bun, bun, unde vreau sa ajung. Am 3 piese mari si late in garderoba imprimate astfel. Le-am cumparat in ideea ca, nu stiu, le las pe umeras pana la pastele cailor ca acolo arata bine si nu-s trashy si nu risc sa arat ca Jordan (ah, dac-ati stii cat ma abtin sa dau nume romanesti;))). Dar ca o Ioana d’Arc ce sunt, am decis sa iau problema in maini si sa ma documentez despre cum pot purta animal print intr-o maniera placuta ochiului. Am citit multe articole si-am privit multe fotografii, dupa care am decis sa scriu articolul acesta in speranta ca va fii de folos si altor necunoscatoare ca mine. Mentionez ca nu sunt niciun guru in domeniu, nu am studii de specialitate iar ce scriu este pur subiectiv si bazat pe abilitatile mele de comprehensiune a ceea ce au scris si facut altii. Sa incepem asadar.

Don’t show too much skin. Skirts that are too short, short shorts, cleavage revealing tops or too tight clothes will only make you look cheap, as if you’re ready to go on the set of Pretty woman and replace Julia Roberts in those first scenes.
A tasteful trench style dress, a simple blouse or a knee-length straight skirt can look very elegant.

1. Mai putin inseamna mai mult

Evita sa porti haine prea decoltate. Fustele sau pantalonii prea scurti, topurile cu decolteu adanc sau croielile prea stramte nu vor face decat sa dea senzatia unei tinute ieftine, demna de primele scene ale Juliei Roberts in Pretty woman. Un trench, o rochie pana la genunchi sau o bluza simpla, sunt niste alegeri suficient de discrete pentru senzualitatea deja emanata de animal print. Traducere: Esti suficient de sexi ca leopardita, zebroaica, serpoaica samd. Expunerea unei suprafete mari de piele proprie este nenecesara si nerecomandata.

2. Start with accessories

If you are little shy about wearing animal prints, try using accessories to make you a little more “roaaar” chic. Invest in a great snake-print handbag or a fabulous pair of shoes that will definitely make you the center of attention. A scarf, some gloves or some pretty jewellery aren’t bad ideas either.

3. Keep in mind your figure when choosing to wear animal prints

This sort of prints are great for emphasizing your best features! Remember they are a bold choice and you can definitely use them in your advantage by drawing attention from flawed areas. Chinch your tiny waist with a skinny animal print belt or use a big scarf to show off your pretty neck and shoulders. Try not to wear this trend from head to toe, but if you decide to do it, keep in mind that it will only look good on small frames.

3. Tine cont de silueta ta

Poti folosi imprimeurile de origine animala pentru a pune in evidenta punctele tale forte si a distrage atentia de la defecte: foloseste o curea pentru a accentua o talie subtire sau leaga o esarfa voluminoasa in jurul gatului pentru a focusa atentia in partea superioara a corpului si a distrage de la cea inferioara. Nerecomandabil ar fii sa te imbraci din cap pana-n picioare in leopard. Totusi, daca alegi sa o faci si ai senzatia ca e de bine sa fii pisi centurist, tine minte ca o astfel de tinuta va arata bine doar pe o silueta zvelta, inghitindu-le si aglomerandu-le complet pe cele mai putin filiforme.

4. Pay close attention to the fabric

Avoid any stretchy, shiny, glittery fabric and try not to wear sequins or beads. The print is bold enough to stand out by itself.

4. Acorda atentie texturii

Alege tesaturi naturale. Evita impopotonarile inutile ce tin de materiale stralucitoare, elastice, compozitii dubioase, accesorizari cu paiete, margele sau sclipici.

5. Don’t mix&match prints

Pick one print and stick with it. While I do love mix&matching, it’s strongly recomanded to stick with a single print and play around it with basic colors: black, red, white, blue or even Kelly green. Of course, if you’re already in a long-term relationship with animal prints, go ahead and step out of line.

5. Nu exagera cu imprimeurile

Mai ales daca nu ai experienta in juxtapuneri, este recomandabil sa nu amesteci animal print-ul cu alte imprimeuri. Daca doresti totusi sa incerci, poti incerca varianta alaturarii clasice de buline sau dungi discrete. Evita micky mousii, imprimeurile psychedelice sau orice alt gen de imprimeu aglomerat. Nu-i asa c-ar arata relativ labil psihic din partea ta sa pui funde roz deasupra unei rochii cu imprimeu de piton? Asa ma gandeam si eu. Alege o culoare de baza si creaza-ti lookul in jurul acesteia. Negru pare sa mearga cel mai bine dar poti incerca si alb, bleumarin, rosu sau chiar verde Kelly. Poate va aduceti aminte de una dintre tinutele lui Andy din “The devil wears Prada” cand purta acel palton frumos verde Kelly cu guler si mansete din blana artificiala de leopard. Absolut superb.

EN: This outfit reminds me so much of my high school days! I didn’t wear heels so big back then or jeans as tight as these, my hair was so much longer and I didn’t own such a cool jacket either. I found it in a thrift shop a few months ago and I was lucky enough to discover it’s a small size, unlike most of the jackets I usually find. A bit pricey but totally worth it. And…don’t know if you’re noticing but I’m wearing a Metallica t-shirt I’ve had since seventh grade. Still a big fan :D

RO: Tinuta asta imi aduce aminte tare mult de anii de liceu! Desigur ca nu purtam tocuri asa inalte atunci sau jeansi atat de stramti, aveam parul muuult mai lung si nici jachete asa misto ca asta n-aveam. Am gasit-o intr-un sh acum cateva luni si am fost suficient de baftoasa cat sa o prind intr-o marime mica, spre deosebire de majoritatea jachetelor pe care le gasesc in general. Putin cam scumpa dar nu regret nicio clipa ca am luat-o. Si…nu stiu daca observati dar port pe dedesubt un tricou imprimat cu Metallica pe care il am din clasa a7a daca nu ma insel. EN: Bought this skirt last summer (remember this post?) and I have been waiting to wear it ever since. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me and new clothes but I always have this feeling that they should be kept safe in my closet for ~~half a year~~ a while so I could get used to the sight of them and feel less bad when I’ll eventually ruin them (I hope it won’t be the case).
So i finally decided to pull it out of the closet and wear it without any particular reason or special occasion, you know, just for the sake of dressing up:) I think I should get more skirts of this length, they look so classy!

RO: Am cumparat fusta aceasta vara trecuta (poate va aduceti aminte de ea din postarea asta?) si de atunci am tot asteptat sa o port. Unu la mana pentru ca era mult prea cald pentru ea pe vremurile alea si doi, cred ca am ceva la cap cand vine vorba de lucruri noi. Am tendinta de a le aseza in dulap si a le lasa acolo, unde sunt “in siguranta”, pentru niste multe luni de zile pana cand ma obisnuiesc cu ele si nu mai imi pare rau ca le dezvirginez. Sau ca e foarte posibil sa ma lovesc de vreun perete proaspat vopsit, vars cafea, ma asez pe o guma, scap un pix, ma stropeste vreun destept pe strada, samd…chestii care mi se intampla mie in general cu lucrurile la care tin. Sa speram ca nu va fii cazul.
Deci m-am decis in sfarsit s-o scot la soare si am purtat-o fara niciun motiv anume sau ocazie speciala, ci doar de dragul de a ma imbraca in ceva deosebit :) Cred ca ar trebui sa imi cumpar mai multe fuste de lungimea aceasta, mi se par tare elegante!

EN: As you might have read in Olivia’s blog or Sandra’s and Eve’s blog, Thursday was the launch party of the Gabroveni 24 complex. Placed in a very chic location, the complex shelters three stores: a flower shop (Florăria Lipscani), a clothing and accessories boutique (Atelier A!urea) and a decorations shop (Atelierul de Creație). Very chic indeed:)
Below it’s the press handout which as you can see it’s written in romanian (please forgive me, I’m too lazy to translate it). I’ll leave you with the photos now:)

RO: Dupa cum poate ati citit pe blogul Oliviei sau pe cel al Sandrei si Evelinei, Joi a fost petrecerea de lansare a complexului Gabroveni 24. Amplasat intr-o locatie foarte chic (si decorat la fel de chic), complexul gazduieste 3 magazine: Florăria Lipscani, Atelierul A!urea (unde am salivat eu cel mai puternic la hainele si accesoriile prezentate, mai ales la cele vintage!), si Atelierul de Creație, un butic plin de obiecte decorative deosebite. Intr-adevar chic:) N-o sa bat campii inutil, sunt convinsa ca deja stiti despre ce e vorba iar daca nu, puteti citi comunicatul de presa mai jos.

Hopeful wishing

EN: At the moment, the first thing on my wishlist would be a great winter coat. I already have some pretty coats in my closet from the past few years, some vintage, some new, but, for this year, I wanna save up and buy something really special and elegant that will make me look fabulous and polished no matter what else I’m wearing. So I’m thinking faux fur. I already have my eyes set on a gorgeous Topshop coat that it’s a bit overpriced (as most of the Topshop pieces) but I think I’m gonna get my money’s worth. Hopefully I’ll buy it soon:)
Anyway, for the next couple of months, this Zara coat I’m wearing in this post will do just fine. It’s thick and colorful enough to cheer me up even on the most cold autumn days. Worn here with a River Island skirt, a vintage blouse from my granny, a vintage bag, Deichmann otk boots, Asos watch, vintage jewellery and Escada belt.

RO: La momentul de fata, cap de lista in ordinea dorintelor mele este o haina de iarna grozava. Am deja cateva piese dragutele in dulap adunate din anii trecuti, unele vintage, altele noi, insa pentru anul acesta, vreau sa strang bani si sa investesc in ceva cu adevarat special. Ceva elegant care sa arate fabulos si rafinat indiferent de ce am pe dedesubt. Ma gandesc asadar la blana (artificiala). Am gasit ceva foarte apropiat dorintelor mele la Topshop. Este putin cam prea scumpa, asa cum sunt majoritatea produselor Topshop, dar la cum arata, si din experienta mea cu marca aceasta, cred ca merita.
Sper sa o cumpar in curand:)
Oricum, pentru urmatoarele 2 luni, pana la zapada, cred ca ma voi descurca foarte bine cu haina aceasta de la Zara. E destul de grosuta cat sa nu inghet si destul de colorata cat sa ma inveseleasca si in cele mai reci zile de toamna. Purtata aici cu o fusta River Island, o bluza vintage de la bunica, o geanta vintage, cizme peste genunchi Deichmann, ceas Asos, bijuterii vintage si curea Escada.

EN: Bonjour mes cheres! How are you holding on in this weather? Here in Bucharest we are almost frozen, congelated, chilled to the marrow, you get the point. Hope you’re doing better. ..
So, considering the weather we’ve had lately, my feet haven’t seen anything else but boots and fluffy socks. Tons of fluffy socks (I think I’m starting a collection here). They are ugly and unattractive but they keep me warm and that’s enough for me at the moment.
These photos were taken a few days ago when shoes were still appropriate for the temperatures. I paired these Topshop ones with the most fabulous pair of Levi’s jeans I ever found (pink Levi’s jeans?!?! Dude…how cool is that? I couldn’t belive my eyes when I saw them) and a vintage floral printed blazer. Springlike:)

RO: Bonjour mes cheres! Cum faceti fata vremii? Nu stiu cum se ingheata in alte colturi ale tarii dar aici la Bucuresti e crima. Eu una sunt inghetata (pe bat), congelata si degerata. Sper ca voua va e mai bine…
Asa ca, luand in considerare vremea, in ultimele zile n-am iesit din cizme si din sosete groase, pufoase, tricotate sau din alea moi, de zici ca e burete materialul(nu stiu cum se numeste). Sunt urate si de “nescos” in lume dar ce conteaza este ca imi tin de cald:) Deci le port.
Pozele acestea sunt facute acum cateva zile cand temperaturile erau totusi mai suportabile si imi permiteam pantofi…I-am purtat pe astia de la Topshop cu cea mai misto pereche de Levisi care mi-a picat vreodata in maini (Levisi roz?!?! Cam cat de tare e asta? Nu mi-a venit sa cred cand i-am gasit) si un sacou vintage cu imprimeu floral. Primavaratic:)

Color of change

EN: It’s starting to smell like autumn. There’s a chill in the air, the afternoons are warm and gilterring, the sun sets faster, the mosquitoes are gone (YES!) and the threes have a brand new wardrobe in gorgeous, mottled colors: brick red, scarlet, dark gold, warm yellows, crimson, rufous and soft orange. I’m craving cinnamon wine, pumpkin and apple pie and most of all, I’m dying to feel the smell of baked chestnuts!
Likewise, my wardrobe it’s starting to feel the change… I packed away most of my summer clothes and took all of my thicker clothes out of storage, including my beloved over the knee boots and fedora hats. I can’t wait to wear them again!
As you can see, I’m already enjoying my hats and this particular one it’s a new-comer in closet. Vintage of course, as well as most of my outfit.
I’m wearing a pair of thrifted velvet Cacharel pants, a Miss Selfridge sheer blouse, Jeffrey Campbell shoes, vintage blazer, bag and hat and H&M rings.

RO: Incepe sa miroasa zdravan a toamna. Se simte o racoare in atmosfera, dupa amiezile splendide, soarele apune mai repede, tantari ioc (DA!), copacii colorati in nuante pestrite de caramiziu, rosu aprins, stacojiu, galbenuri calde, auriu inchis, aramiu si oranjuri blande… Stiu si eu sa fac compuneri de clasa a 3a sau ce? :D
Mi-e pofta de vin cu scortisoara si de placinta de dovleac sau de mere, si mi-e foarte pofta de mirosul castanelor coapte. Se simte o schimbare si in dulapul meu. Am impachetat hainele subtiri, de vara si am facut loc celor groase, inclusive mult iubitelor cizme peste genunchi si palarii, pe care abia astept sa le port mai des! Am inceput sa le port defapt…Cea din postarea de astazi este cumparata recent. Vintage desigur, ca majoritatea pieselor ce alcatuiesc tinuta.
Port o pereche de pantaloni din catifea Cacharel gasiti intr-un sh, o bluza usor transparenta Miss Selfridge, pantofi Jeffrey Campbell, geanta, palarie si sacou vintage si inele H&M.

RO: Dupa cum am promis…ta-da! Postare cu tinuta!

Have you ever heared about Renato Nucci? I sure didn’t. It was only when I bought this awesome skirt he made that I found out about him (thank you Google). Anyway, I’m a big fan of this kind of prints beucase they remind me a bit about Hermes and I think they look great next to another print. For this outfit I chose polka dots and finished off the look with golden accessories.

Voi ati mai auzit de Renato Nucci pana acum? Eu categoric nu. Abia cand am cumparat fusta asta facuta de el am aflat ca omul asta exista (noroc cu Goagal). Ma incanta in mod deosebit genul acesta de imprimeuri in principiu pentru ca imi aduc aminte de Hermes si mi se pare ca arata foarte bine alaturate unui alt tip de print. Pentru tinuta aceasta, am adaugat buline si am finalizat cu accesorii aurii.

Now that I look at it, I notice how loud does this outfit scream ‘me’. It sums up all I love at the moment: vintage, silk, gold, prints, over the knee boots and high waists.

Acum ca ma uit mai atent la ea, imi dau seama cat de multe elemente componente parca “imi striga numele”: vintage, matase, auriu, imprimeuri, cizme peste genunchi si talii inalte. Tot ce iubesc la momentul actual.

This is the friend I was telling you about. She already left, but hey…at least we got to see each other :)

Randomness. This is not an outfit post.

EN: Yesterday the weather was cold. Cold enough so I could enjoy layering. I wore thick tights, long boots, a dress, a shirt, a men’s parka, a scarf and a belt, all together just to keep me warm. Which they did, quite successfully. Unsuccessfully though, was my attempt to take shots of my outfit into daylight since the sun sets earlier and I’m not that active in the first part of the day. I could of course, take the photos inside the house but I don’t know, I don’t like indoor photos that much. Somehow they give me the sensation of fake. And yes, I know these shots were taken inside but it was just one time and I only did it because of necessity. Hopefully it will never happen again. Anyway…I was telling you about a men’s parka. I was lucky enough to find it in the smallest size available so it’s quite fitted for a lady’s body as well. I bought it last summer from a second hand store and I was really happy to notice it’s a vintage YSL, one of my biggest fashion and vintage obsessions. I wore it with a crimson Primark dress which you can barely see, a jeans Zara shirt, a vintage belt and no name and vintage jewellery.

RO: Ieri a fost rece afara. Suficient de rece cat sa ma pot bucura de straturi. Am purtat ciorapi grosi, cizme inalte, rochie, camasa, parka barbateasca, o esarfa si o curea, toate la un loc cat sa nu-mi fie frig. Succes. Nu mi-a fost. Insa am esuat fulminant in ceea ce priveste pozele facute la lumina zilei. Cum lumina zilei se duce dracului incepand de pe la un 6, devine din ce in ce mai greu pentru mine sa-mi imortalizez tinutele. As putea sa le fac in casa desigur, insa am o oaresce repulsie vis a vis de metoda asta si nu neaparat din considerente ce tin de background sau calitate, ci din cauza senzatiei de fals. Ma rog, este o parere pur subiectiva pe care nu cred ca e cazul s-o dezvolt acum, mai ales ca pozele de fata sunt facute… in casa. Nu ma contrazic, a fost o exceptie generata de imprejurimi si sper sa nu se mai repete. Revenind de unde am plecat…Va spuneam de o parka barbateasca. Barbateasca pentru ca asa scrie pe eticheta, insa fiind cea mai mica marime, se potriveste foarte bine si pentru femei. Am luat-o vara trecuta din sh (vine ca un soc, stiu) si m-am bucurat sa vad ca este o piesa YSL, una dintre cele mai mari obsesii ale mele in materie de moda si indeosebi de vintage. Purtata cu o rochie grena Primark pe care abia o vedeti, camasa de jeans Zara, curea vintage si bijuterii no name si vintage. Mai erau si cizmele da’ e greu cu pozele, v-am spus. M-am dus asa la cursuri si la hoinarit prin oras cu treburi.

Speaking of obsessions, another one of them would have to be Thierry Mugler, the vintage Thierry Mugler. I’m extremely disappointed with the nowadays Mugler, I find it very dishonoring, an insult to the original fashion house, especially to the 90’s era which I worship. The label you’re seeing in this photo comes for a blazer I bought a few weeks ago and it’s one of the few Mugler pieces I own. Unfortunately.

O alta obsesie, poate cea mai mare la momentul de fata, tine de Thierry Mugler. Dar nu Muglerul ala din ziua de azi, pe care eu personal il consider o porcarie, o jignire, o gluma proasta,un esec si o insulta la adresa casei de moda din deceniile trecute, ci Thierry Mugler din anii 90. Ce vedeti in poza este eticheta unui sacou luat acum cateva saptamani, una dintre putinele piese Mugler pe care le detin. Din pacate.

And since winter is so close, I thought 3 pairs of sunnies were in order. Gosh, I really need to sort out a shopping list…

Ca tot vine iarna si dispare si soarele, 3 perechi de ochelari s-au dovedit a fii absolut vitale. Parca strigau dupa mine in Meli Melo “ia-ne acasa Andreea, ia-ne acasa, suntem prea misto ca sa ne lasi aici”. Puteam eu sa zic nu? Negativ.

Since I moved I have big issues with storage as I don’t own a closet (yet) and I’m forced to hang most of my blazers, dresses and shirts…on the walls. I’m getting a little claustrophobic here.

Am multe haine agatate pe pereti… Stau prost cu spatiul de depozitare momentan, pana se rezolva problema cu mobilierul, asa ca sunt nevoita sa le tin pe unde apuc. Mai exact, toti peretii si colturile sunt impanzite de sacouri, camasi si rochii. Usor claustrofobica senzatia.

Stefanel

EN: So last Thursday I went to the launch of the first Stefanel concept store in Romania. It was a very classy event, with lots of people, some celebrities, good food and music, a fashion show and of course, pretty clothes and accessories. Speaking about the clothes...I liked the rich textures, the wide range of colors and the modern cuts. The shoes were quite interesting as well, and very wearable (i suppose) because of the medium height heels. In conclusion, i liked the collection, i think it's a great choice for this season but the prices are a bit too high:)

RO: Joia trecuta am mers la lansarea primului concept store Stefanel din Romania. A fost un eveniment foarte elegant, desfasurat intr-o locatie si mai eleganta (voi posta adresa la finalul postarii), plin de oameni, inclusiv ceva dudui care apar la televizor, mancare si muzica buna, o prezentare de moda si desigur, haine si accesorii frumoase. Cu privire la produse, din ce am vazut, mi-au atras atentia texturile bogate, paleta cromatica diversificata si taieturile moderne. Incaltamintea interesanta si ea, si banuiesc purtabila: tocuri decent de purtat toata ziua si modele actuale. In concluzie, din ce am vazut, mi s-a parut o colectie foarte ok pentru sezonul rece. Preturile in schimb, sunt destul de usturatoare. In special pentru un buget de roman:)

EN: I have to admit I wore this outfit two days in a row, just with different shoes(you’ll see it soon in another post). I just started my second year of college so the past few days have been very hectic for me because of the moving issue. Anyway, right now everything is in its place and I’m quite happy because my childhood best friend arrived in the country. She won’t stay more than 3 days so I’m trying to spend as much time as I can with her.
Yesterday we spent most of the day together and this is what I wore: a vintage Laurel by Escada blazer (I’m obsessed with it), Topshop jeans, Steve Madden sandals, Bershka t-shirt, vintage jewellery, Asos watch and a C&A bag.

RO: Recunosc ca am purtat tinuta aceasta doua zile la rand, doar cu pantofi diferiti (o veti vedea in curand intr-o alta postare). Trec printr-o perioada destul de agitata de cand am inceput al doilea an de facultate, acum cateva zile, mai mult datorita mutatului si tot circul pe care il implica “procedeul” asta. Una peste alta, sunt destul de bucuroasa din cauza vizitei unei prietene din copilarie. Traim in tari diferite si ne vedem destul de rar, doar o data pe an iar atunci pentru cateva zile. Acum nu va sta decat 3 zile in Bucuresti si incerc sa fiu cat mai mult timp cu ea. Ziua de ieri am petrecut-o aproape in totalitate impreuna si am purtat asta: sacou vintage Laurel by Escada (ma obsedeaza), jeansi Topshop, sandale Steve Madden, tricou Bershka, bijuterii vintage, ceas Asos si geanta C&A.

EN: I was in the mood for midi skirts yesterday so it seemed like a perfect oportunity to wear this silk skirt that has been hanging in my closet since last year. I remember I was completely in love with it and couldn’t wait to wear it when I found it sad and alone in a thrift store. Somehow, I managed to forget about it, as I usually do with most of my clothes. Does that ever happen to you?

RO: Ieri am avut chef de fuste midi asa ca mi s-a parut momentul potrivit pentru a scoate la aer fusta aceasta de matase. O tin chinuita in dulap de anul trecut, de cand am cumparat-o dintr-un sh. Imi aduc aminte ca eram complet lesinata de incantare cand am gasit-o singura in magazin si abia asteptam sa o port… Cumva, am uitat de ea, asa cum fac in general cu majoritatea lucrurilor pe care le cumpar. Vi se intampla si voua asa ceva vreodata?

EN: A few days ago I finally got to enjoy wearing a thicker jacket without melting. Never mind that, the heat waves are back and right now it’s too hot to even consider wearing it again.

RO: Acum cateva zile am profitat de vremea ceva mai racoroasa si am reusit astfel sa ma bucur de o jacheta grosuta fara sa ma topesc. As bate campii cu gratie sa va spun ca si azi mi-as permite asa ceva; caldura s-a intors (evident), iar acum pana si IDEEA unei astfel de haine pare penibila.

So this blazer is one of my best vintage finds. EVER. It’s one of the few vintage pieces I didn’t have to alter in order to fit me, it has a great shape and an awesome color. Plus, the icing on the cake is that I bought it for 3 bucks.

Sacoul acesta este una dintre cele mai bune achizitii de vintage pe care le-am facut. VREODATA. E una dintre putinele piese care n-au necesitat ore in mainile croitoresei inainte de a le putea purta, are o forma grozava iar culoarea e si mai grozava. Pe langa asta, cireasa de pe tort e ca am platit pentru el vreo 10 lei daca-mi aduc bine aminte.

“I want the fairy tale”

EN: Whether you are a fashionista, a clothes collector or just interested in fashion, you gotta love vintage! There is something special about objects from the past, not knowing where they’ve been, who have they been worn by, on what occasion, how much did they cost and so on; it’s a wonderful feeling that makes you (or me at least) think about the item’s history and value it even more.
I discovered vintage a few years ago and ever since I’ve been drawn to scouring local thrift shops just hoping I’ll stumble across a gorgeous 1950’s crinoline dress, a Chanel suit or some big glamorous hats. Still working to find that Chanel suit but I did find a lot of other goodies that are very dear to me and make me feel special every time I wear them.
The dress I’m wearing today is a vintage Louis Feraud number that I bought online a few months ago. It’s made from a very soft silk, it’s perfectly fitted for my body shape and it has this cute sash line which is supposed to be used as a belt. However, my two left hands are incapable of doing a pretty bow, so, as you can see, I decided to use it as a headscarf.
Somehow it reminds me about Julia Roberts in “Pretty woman”… Got the dress, now the only thing I need in my life is a Richard Gere. Yummy.

RO: Indiferent ca esti o fashionista, o colectionara de haine sau doar pasionata de moda, nu ai cum sa nu iubesti vintageul! Pentru mine, fiecare obiect din trecut are ceva special, o aura misterioasa creata din nestiinta. Nestiinta locului din care provine, a oamenilor care l-au posedat/purtat sau a pretului platit ; e un sentiment minunat care te face (sau cel putin pe mine ma face) sa te gandesti la trecutul obiectului si sa-l valorezi chiar mai mult decat o faci.
Am descoperit vintageul acum cativa ani si de atunci, deseori mi se intampla sa-mi petrec timpul prin second handuri locale cotrobaind, cautand, rasfirand umerase, in cautare de…o rochie cu crinolina din anii 50 sa zicem. Sau un costum Chanel. Sau macar niste palarii mari, opulente. Inca lucrez la partea cu gasirea costumului Chanel dar, in schimb, am gasit multe alte “comori”, foarte dragi mie si care ma fac sa ma simt special de fiecare data cand le imbrac.
Rochia pe care o port in postarea de astazi este o piesa vintage Louis Feraud, cumparata de pe un blog autohton in vara aceasta. E facuta dintr-o matase foarte fina, vine ca turnata pe forma corpului meu si are si aceasta bucata de material, pe care, banuiesc ca ar trebui sa o folosesc pe post de curea. Evident ca nu-s in stare sa fac o funda decenta, astfel ca o port ca esarfa legata pe cap. Intr-un fel imi aduce aminte de Julia Roberts in “Pretty woman”… E bine zic. Rochia o am, ce mai imi trebuie acum e un Richard Gere. Yummy.

EN: Why don’t they make blazers like this anymore? I’m starting to get annoyed by that straight up and down, boyfriend cut blazer, which can be found in any highstreet shop and not only. Have you noticed that those colorful blazers Zara did for the last season, are EVERYWHERE? Yeah, me too.
As for me, lately I’m really into jackets with big shoulder pads. Think Dynasty.
Anyway, the thing is I found this one in a thrift store and fell in love not only with the shoulders but also with the nipped-waist, which is a big plus for a waistline lover as myself. So yeah, I had to buy it and show it some love. Now…let me ask that question one more time. Why don’t they make blazers like this anymore?!?

RO: De ce nu se mai fac sacouri de genul asta? Incepe sa ma calce pe nervi modelul acela drept, boyfriend, care se gaseste in toate, toate, cam toate, magazinele de highstreet si nu numai. Daca ati observat, in special modelele alea colorate care au aparut la Zara in colectia trecuta, sunt peste tot.
In ceea ce ma priveste, in ultimul timp ma intereseaza tot mai mult sacourile cu umeri “bufanti”,umpluti cu pernite, cum se purtau in anii 80. Ganditi-va la Dynasty. Intamplarea a facut sa-l gasesc pe asta, care nu numai ca indeplineste cerinta umerilor de rugbyist (nu stiu cum e croit de stau umerii aia asa, dar pernite n-are), dar are si un sistem de prindere pe talie destul de misto. Deci DA! Imi PLACE PLACE PLACE! Si acum repet intrebarea… De ce nu se mai fac sacouri de genul asta?!?

EN: In case you’re wondering why do I look so bitter in these photos and even worse, why do I wear flats ( this is a first here on my blog), the answer is…the lack of sleep. I live near a bar/restaurant where every weekend( but also during the week) are organized parties. Usually the music is loud but still, one can sleep. Last night though, I thought I’m going mad. The music was extremely loud, people were screaming and not even the police could restore order. It was a bloddy circus! And it lasted till 5 a.m! At 6 o’clock I finally got to sleep but, of course, my happiness ended quickly since my neighbours thought it was a good idea to start breaking walls. Anyway, the thing is I have a terrible headache and I hope that tonight I’ll finally catch some sleep.

RO: Poate observati ce moaca de acritura am. Poate va intrebati de la ce mi se trage. Ei bine, am creierii terci. Ma doare capul si sunt nedormita de niste multe ore datorita programului artistic cu care m-am delectat azi noapte.
Povestea a inceput pe la ora 24:00 cand, neclubista si nebambooista cum sunt, am zis sa ma culc. Intamplarea face ca locuiesc in apropierea unui local, jumatate carciuma jumatate restaurant, unde, mai ales in weekenduri, dar si in timpul saptamanii, se organizeaza petreceri. Muzica e tare intotdeauna, e imposibil sa nu auzi, dar in general poti dracului sa dormi fara flaconu’ de extraveral. Azi noapte insa nu. Se zguduiau geamurile de tare ce era…A fost o aniversare banuiesc, care m-a tinut treaza pana-n zori. A BĂGAT BĂEŢII MANELE pana la 5 dimineata. Cu tambalagii, cu acordeonisti, cu dedicatii, cu zbierete, cu chiuituri, ce mai, un vis! Inca imi pulseaza cultura in vene la ce am auzit acolo… Am retinut si cateva versuri dar ma abtin de la asemenea informatii. Vedeti ce va menajez?
Se pare ca n-am fost eu singura oripilata iar suferinta mi-a fost impartasita si de alti locatari care au chemat politia. A venit si politia, nu stiu ce-au rezolvat sau ce n-au rezolvat mai bine zis, ca circul ala nu s-a oprit nicio secunda. La un moment dat, am scos capul pe geam. Nu m-a surprins sa vad ca erau parcate in fata localului numai masini scumpe(nu ma pricep) dar se vedea ca nu erau luate cu programul rabla. Numai sange albastru era acolo, va spun. Ma gandeam la biata mama care conduce un Logan. Fraieră, n-are valoare. Nu s-a orientat. O arde cu Leonard Cohen, Chris Isaak si alti papagali d’astia. Asa-i trebuie daca n-a prins ritmul, sa conduca Logan acum. (Poate ati observat ca in general astia axati pe rafinament muzical gen Salam, o duc destul de bine. De la sunci revarsate peste cureaua cu sclipici D&G si cefe groase, pana la lantauri de aur atarnate suav pe toata burta. Deh, au oamenii cu ce.)
Sublim. Pe la un 5-6 s-a terminat paranghelia. Am pus capul pe perna si am reusit sa dorm vreo 2 ore. Atat nu mai mult, ca la 8 au inceput vecinii sa sparga ziduri. Asadar m-am trezit cu o dispozitie senzationala. La noapte, daca nu deranjez pe cineva, poate si dorm.
Despre tinuta nu stiu ce sa va zic decat ca m-am imbracat cu o mare lipsa de chef si poate observati ca port sandale fara nici cel mai mic toc. N-am avut nervi de asfalt romanesc.

EN: I think I’m starting to develop an obsession with wide legged or flared pants. And the obsession is turning into collection. This may seem as a disagreement with myself and what I always say, that I feel better wearing skirts and dresses instead of pants, don’t you think? Well, I think it’s all about the shape. This type of wide legged pants, like the ones I’m wearing today, have this great cut that makes my legs feel free, almost untouched by the fabric and me feeling like I wear a skirt. And sometimes, they do look as a skirt.
Anyway, I tried more than one combo before getting to this final outfit and my first options were all about a fitted upper part and the loose bootom. That of course, would be the best choice (especially for non-tall gals like me) but let’s not forget about belts and how well they can play with proportions and give structure to an outfit. So I started with the loose pants, added the printed shirt (which is too big for me), then the drapped vest and finished off the look with a waist belt and some accessories. I love the final result, especially the juxtaposition of textures and colors! Of course I could’ve tucked the shirt into the pants and give up the vest and the belt, but that would’ve been too boring, too common and too lacking of personality. And that never happens in my world:P

RO: Cred ca am inceput sa dezvolt o obsesie pentru pantalonii largi sau evazati. Obsesie care degenereaza in colectie. Ar putea parea ca ma contrazic singura, nu-i asa? Avand in vedere de cate ori am afirmat ca ma simt mai bine in fuste si-n rochii decat in pantaloni… Ei bine, cred ca explicatia rezulta din croiala. Genul acesta de pantaloni, ca cei pe care ii port in postarea de astazi, sunt croiti de asa natura incat imi simt picioarele libere, abia mi se ating de material (gratie excesului) si imi dau senzatia ca defapt as purta o fusta lunga, nicidecum pantaloni. Priviti din anumite unghiuri, chiar pot parea fusta. Am incercat mai multe variante inainte de a ajunge la tinuta pe care o vedeti in poze, m-am jucat cu proportiile si culorile si am vrut initial sa aleg ceva mai stramt pe corp pentru partea de sus. Asa ar fi fost normal si corect din punct de vedere al regulilor pe care le gasiti pe orice site sau revista de moda: balansarea jumatatii inferioare cu cea superioara. Mai pe romaneste, ti-ai luat ceva larg in partea de jos, iti iei ceva mai stramt in partea de sus. Si invers. Ceea ce e corect. In caz contrar, mai ales pentru duduile ca mine, neinzestrate cu picioare pana-n gat si multi cm in inaltime, apare efectul piticului bondoc, inghitit de masele de material fara forma sau structura. O alta varianta pentru echilibrarea proportiilor, care mie personal imi place mai mult, tine de centuri. In cazul de fata, camasa pe care o port imi e cu vreo 3-4 numere mai mari, vesta e pe marimea mea, insa tot ar fi aratat lalai si drept de colo pana colo daca nu ma foloseam de curea. Imi place mult juxtapunerea de texturi si forme care a iesit! Puteam eventual sa bag camasa in pantaloni si sa renunt la vesta drapata si curea, insa era prea banal, prea plictisitor, prea inspid, prea lipsit de sare si piper. Iar asta, in lumea mea, nu se intampla niciodata:P

Mixology

EN: For some reason, in the past few years I chose to stay away from wearing prints, even less mixing them. I don’t know why I felt like I’d rather wear 10 colors all at the same time instead of mixing some bloody stripes with, I don’t know…polka dots? What's the worst that could have happened? People staring? Oh wait…that happens all the time. God, I love my country! (please detect the dose of sarcasm)
Anyway, I finally started exploring the world of mixology and surprise! i’m starting to get the hang of it. Well, I’m not quite there yet, throwing prints together in a matter of seconds that work perfectly, but I’m slowly working my way around! For now I’m just sticking with the safer options but soon enough you’ll be seeing me thinking outside the box and having way much more fun with this trend.

RO: Nu stiu din care motiv, in ultimii ani am avut niste pitici pe creier care imi dictau sa nu ma ating de imprimeuri, cu atat mai putin sa port mai multe in aceiasi tinuta. Habar n-am de ce mi se parea mai ok sa port 10 culori deodata dar cand auzeam de dungi cu buline, ma lua alergia. La fel de bine, nu stiu ce se putea intampla daca incercam. As fi comis o crima teribila probabil…si m-ar fi criticat aceleasi somitati in domeniu care m-au “invatat” ca negru merge cu orice :> Oh, dar stai…asta se intampla cam tot timpul. Si cred ca v-am mai spus cat de mult imi iubesc tara. Mai ales cetatenii umblatori pe strada foarte preocupati sa ma informeze ce parere au despre cum sunt eu imbracata. Intr-un mod extrem de civilizat, desigur. Doar suntem in tara lui Salam si a Printesei Ardealului. (Sper ca simtiti doza de ironie).
Una peste alta, a inceput sa-mi surada ideea combinatiilor de imprimeuri si surpriza, nu musca. Ba chiar imi place, si, usor usor, incep sa ma familiarizez cu jocul. Inca nu am ajuns la nivelul la care sa reusesc o potrivire perfecta din primele secunde, dar experimentez cat de mult pot cu amestecurile “sigure” si sunt convinsa ca in curand, voi capata ceva mai multa abilitate.

So, this is what I wore yesterday. Zara top, Topshop skirt, thrifted vest, no name wedges, vintage Chanel bag, Asos watch, H&M rings, no name belt and earrings. Oh, and I made that necklace with some gold chain I had and my granny’s choker:D See? I’m mixing stuff already.

Asta am purtat ieri. Bluza Zara, fust Topshop, vesta luata din SH, pantofi no name, geanta vintage Chanel, ceas Asos, inele H&M, curea si cercei no name. Ah, iar colierul l-am facut acum cateva zile dintr-un lant auriu vechi si un alt colier luat de la bunica. Vedeti? Deja amestec treburi. Alte treburi decat imprimeurile:P

Autumn/Winter

EN: Normally, this time of the year draws everybody’s attention to the ss collections. I for one, try to stay away from them and focus mostly on the aw ones. Not that I don’t like them, not that staying away could make my heart beat slower when I think about them but I prefer not to deceive myself into thinking about bare legs, golden shoulders, chiffon, silk, straw hats or sandals when what I’m going to face here is the winter nightmare. I’m getting scared just thinking about the low temperatures, the ice on the ground (“can’t wait”), the dirty snow, the short days and the long nights, too many layers, hats, gloves, scarves, ugly boots, cold hands and legs, and of course, the hibernation mode. Last year I missed a lot of the classes I had to attend because of the freakin’ cold and I think this year will be no exception. You get the point. However, I’m pretty excited about the coming of autumn and I’m looking forward to experiment with all the ideas I got from the catwalks.
In case you haven’t noticed yet, I hate minimalism so none of what I’ll show you here will have anything to do with that. So, let’s start:

RO: In mod normal, perioada aceasta a anului indreapta atentia tuturor pasionatilor de moda catre colectiile de primavara-vara. Eu una insa, ma feresc de ele si “studiez” in detaliu pe cele de toamna-iarna, prezentate acum cateva luni. Nu ca nu mi-ar place, nu ca mi-ar infrana catusi de putin dorintele sau m-ar ajuta sa-mi indrept gandurile catre alta directie, insa prefer sa nu ma amagesc sau iluzionez cu picioare dezgolite, umeri aurii, chiffon, matase, palarii de paie si sandale, cand pe mine ma asteapta cosmarul iernii, cu temperaturi pe minus, gheata pe jos (oh da, “abia astept”), zapada murdara, zile scurte si nopti lungi, aburi la orice suflu, treijda’ mii da straturi, caciuli, manusi, fulare, bocanci urati, maini si picioare reci permanent, plus, desigur, hibernare pana la venirea primaverii. Pot s-o tin asa la nesfarsit sau sa va povestesc cat de mult am absentat de la cursuri iarna trecuta, de urat ce-mi era sa ies din casa si sa infrunt viscolul (cu precizarea ca stateam la 5 minute distanta de cladirea facultatii). Ma rog, ati inteles ideea. Ma consolez totusi cu ajutorul temperaturilor intermediare ale toamnei si oferta bogata de idei propusa de designeri.
Recunosc ca n-am avut rabdarea de a lua la puricat toata rubrica de fall/winter 2011-2012 de pe style.com, dar, din ce am rasfoit, iata ce m-a incantat si am salvat in computer pentru a-mi servi ca inspiratie in lunile urmatoare. Mentionez ca nimic din ce am ales nu are de-a face cu minimalismul.

1. Dior, the collection I liked the most, same as the Gucci one
Capes, hats, otk boots, laced booties worn with thick socks, fur coats and collars, rich colors and textures such as velvet, chiffon, cashmere, silk, leather, masive jewellery (especially the massive necklaces with the cameo pendants), spiced up with the dark make up, they all create in my mind an obscure, mysterious and romantic image (all at the same time), which I can’t wait to reinterpretate in the upcoming months

Cape, palarii, cizme peste genunchi, botine cu siret purtate cu sosete groase, gulere si haini din blana, culori si texturi bogate din catifea, voal, casmir, matase, piele, bijuterii masive (mai ales colierele cu pandantive stil camee), completate de un machiaj intunecos, creaza in mintea mea o imagine obscura, misterioasa si romantica in acelasi timp, pe care abia astept s-o interpretez in lunile ce vor urma

Amazing. A gorgeous mixture between the 70’s and the 40’s that holds a special place in my heart because of the rich, jewel-tone color pallete, the flawlessly tailored wide-leg trousers, the opulence, the chinched waists, the big hats, the sheer dresses, the midi skirts and the fur collars. LOVE

2. Gucci
Mirific. O combinatie senzationala intre anii 70 si 40, ce m-a cucerit incepand cu paleta coloristica in nuante de pietre pretioase si terminand cu pantalonii largi croiti impecabil. Opulenta, taliile marcate, palariile mari, rochiile transparente, fustele de lungime medie si gulerele de blana sunt doar alte cateva detalii care fac deliciul subsemnatei.

I only liked the first outfits, the ones wich had a strong 60’s and 70’s vibe in them, along with the rich colors: petrol blue, purple and pink. Also, I thought the otk velvet boots were amazing.

O colectie care m-a incantat preponderent la inceputul showului prin bogatia culorilor (albastru petrol, mov si roz) si a siluetelor inspirate din moda anilor 60 si 70. De remarcat cizmele peste genunchi din catifea.

5. Diane von Furstenberg
She’s usually not one of my favorites, but for this season, I really liked the high waisted pencil skirts, the wide belts placed on the waist, the autumn shades, the golden details and the eccentric prints.

In mod obisnuit nu una din preferatele mele, Diane von Furstenberg, mi-a captat atentia sezonul acesta datorita fustelor creion cu talie inalta, centurilor late plasate pe talie, culorilor tomnatice si a detaliilor aurii plus imprimeurile excentrice.

EN: It’s supposed to be autumn, or at least that’s what I heard. In a few months I know I’ll be dreaming about these times when I could actually get out of the house without wearing an entire rack of thick sweaters, but for now, I must admit I am getting sick of summer clothes. However, there are a lot of easy breezy pieces that I haven’t worn this season and I’m trying to get as much wear as I can from them. For example…
I got this embelished top from H&M a while ago and I think it’s great for layering (well, you need some decent temperatures to do that, so of course this outfit doesn’t qualify ). I paired it (also) with a H&M skirt, Zara sandals, vintage Louis Vuitton bag, no name and vintage jewellery and a Nina Ricci scarf that I used to make a turban. Thank god there’s Youtube to show us, the people with two left hands, how to do things. Things such as head wraps:P

RO: Se presupune ca a venit toamna. Sau cel putin asa stiam eu ca ar trebui sa fie. Sunt destul de sigura ca peste cateva luni, cand ma voi tavali si lovi de toti peretii disperata de frig si nu voi putea iesi din casa fara 38656,5 pulovere, imi va fi dor de vremurile acestea. Pentru moment insa, recunosc ca mi s-a acrit de caldura si de hainele de vara. Ma rog, n-am reusit sa port multe dintre hainele subtiri, moi, vaporoase, specifice verii, asa ca incerc sa ingras porcul in ajun cat de mult pot. Par example…
Am luat bluza aceasta acum ceva vreme de la H&M, atrasa fiind de detaliul cu margele din jurul gatului. Mi se pare interesanta pentru layering (asta daca ai si o vreme decenta care sa-ti permita layering. La 35 de grade, e clar ca outfitul asta nu se califica). Am purtat-o asadar cu o fusta tot de la H&M, sandale Zara, geanta vintage Louis Vuitton, bijuterii no name si vintage si o esarfa vintage Nina Ricci pe care am folosit-o ca sa imi fac un turban. Nu va imaginati ca sunt in stare sa fac ceva (ce necesita indemanare) de capul meu fara instructiuni precise, NU. Mai indemanatic decat mine e probabil un bizon cu pensula in copita, pus sa picteze pe panza, dar multumesc ‘alui de sus ca exista Youtube care ne arata cum sa facem chestii. Chestii ca turbanele:P

The tutu

EN: Today i went thrifting/vintage shopping, whatever. I spent my morning "fighting" with old ladies for skirts, digging through piles of old junk for hidden gems, trying to get some bargain goodies. I almost lost my wallet but that's ok, it wasn't much in there, except for some important papers, including my identity card. And that would've been a tragic loss.
Anyway...i returned home with a lot of goodies, among which i got a very strange thing, supposed to be a white tutu (i guess). It has this very odd shape, no hem line and i think it was handmade. It reaches my knees. If i think about it, it's pretty ugly but that's exactly why i bought it, besides the idea of wearing it with my Litas (can’t wait to wear them again!), a leather jacket and a tophat. I'm not sure where i'll wear it but i get pretty excited just thinking how people are going to stare:D (I'm joking about the enthusiasm, of course...i told you i hate stares and bad jokes:)

RO: Am fost azi prin SH uri. M-am smardoit cu pensionarii, m-au imbrancit tiganii (sau rromii, ca s-o ardem neologistic), era sa raman si fara portofel, dar s-a meritat pana la urma (nu stiu daca v-am mai spus, dar aici in sh urile pe care le frecventez eu, e bataie mare pe marfa intre categoriile mai sus mentionate. Defapt, eu cu mama, pensionarii si doamnele in fuste colorate cu banuti in par plus ai lor masculi palariosi, suntem cam singurii cumparatori. Foarte rar s-a intamplat sa vad persoane mai tinere sau din alte categorii sociale...Nu ca asta ar fi o problema, doamne fereste. Am vrut doar sa enunt de la cine imi iau coate pentru d'al da Escada si alti d'astia.) Revenind...Dupa tot tambalaul despre care v-am spus, m-am intors acasa cu cateva bunaciuni bune bune care-s la spalat/dezinfectat/calcat acum. Printre ele, am gasit un fel de tutu din acela cum au balerinele, alb la culoare dar foarte ciudatel. Adica are o forma aiurea rau, n-are tiv, sunt mai multe straturi de material si se vede ca e facut manual. Imi ajunge pana la genunchi. E chiar uratel daca il studiem in detaliu dar mi-a placut mult de tot asa neobisnuit cum e si m-am gandit ce bine va tine companie Litelor (muhahaha, inca putin si le scot de la naftalina), unei geci de piele si eventual o palarie gen joben:D L-am luat. Nu stiu unde o sa-l port dar ma apuca entuziasmul numai cand ma gandesc in ce hal m-ar crucifica romanasii sa ies asa pe strada:D Glumesc referitor la entuziasm, v-am spus ca ma enerveaza toti dobitocii care se baga in seama... si in general jignesc:)

I wore a Primark skirt i got a few years ago, a Bershka t-shirt, ASOS sandals, no name bag and jewellery and a vintage Christian Dior men's shirt (just to make sure my ass is not that much on show:D)

Am purtat o fusta de la Primark luata de pe un blog acum cativa ani, tricou Bershka, sandale ASOS, geanta si bijuterii no name plus camasa barbateasca vintage Christian Dior (prea mulata fusta ca s-o port cu spatele neacoperit:D)

EN: This outfit pretty much sums up everything about fashion I’m into right now:
1.Big/bold/extravagant earrings (Ever since I chopped my hair off, I love wearing all sorts of earrings, especially if they are large. The larger, the better. The only problem is, I don’t own that many pairs and I’m trying to extend my small collection…So, do let me know if you have any tips where I could find any sort of statement earrings!)
2.Golden jewellery
3.Blazers and boleros (bonus points if they have big shoulderpads or crazy patterns)
4.Anything metallic, shiny or glittery
5.Vintage Levi’s jeans

RO: Tinuta asta insumeaza majoritatea lucrurilor referitoare la moda care ma intereseaza in prezent:
1.Cercei mari/indrazneti/extravaganti (De cand m-am tuns scurt, m-a cuprins o dragoste profunda pentru cercei, mai ales pentru cei de dimensiuni mari. Cu cat mai mari, cu atat mai bine. Buba e ca stau prost la capitolul asta si incerc sa-mi cumpar cat mai multe perechi pot. In caz ca stiti pe unde as putea gasi cercei in genul celor pe care ii port in postarea asta, anuntati-ma pliz:D Cu rugamintea sa nu se incadreze in categoria de pret “salariu minim pe economie”=multe zerouri, d’astia am gasit si eu.

EN: As a non tall girl that I find myself, I consider the mini length to be the best option for my not so long legs. I do wear maxi’s and I’m really into midi lengths lately but, whenever I feel like elongating those pins to the maximum, minis are my best friends. Of course I wouldn’t wear something this short to school, work or anything like that, but for a night out or a very hot day (I’m so tired of this heat, can’t wait for autumn to arrive!), I would say a big, fat, YES!

RO: Ca o duduie ne-inalta ce ma aflu, gasesc lungimea mini ca fiind cea mai buna optiune pentru picioarele mele nu atat de lungi pe cat mi-as dori. Port si maxi-uri, imi plac foarte mult si lungimile medii in ultimul timp, dar, oricand vreau sa-mi “lungesc” la maxim picioarele, fustele si rochiile mini sunt cele mai bune prietene pe care le pot avea. Desigur ca n-as purta ceva atat de scurt la scoala, serviciu, samd (oricat de mult as vrea eu picioare lungi), dar pentru o noapte in oras sau o zi incredibil de calduroasa (mai am un pic si emigrez cu temperaturile astea, abia astept toamna!), as zice un mare si gras DA!

EN: Remember I told you a few posts ago about some Kenzo pants that were too small for me? Well, my dressmaker is a genious:D She enlarged the sides of the pants with some fabric from an old black skirt that I brought along with me and now…they fit:D I’m not sure what are they made from but it looks a lot like brocade. And I love brocade. Of course my mom had to inform me that they remember her of the curtains we used to have in the bathroom in ’93 but that’s ok, I can live with that:))

RO: Va aduceti aminte cum ma plangeam acum cateva postari despre niste pantaloni Kenzo care imi erau mici? Ei bine, i-am rezolvat gratie croitoresei mele geniale:D M-am dus la ea cu pantalonii si o fusta neagra mai veche si, folosind materialul fustei, a atasat ca niste fasii lungi pe lateralele pantalonilor iar acum…imi vin:D Nu sunt sigura din ce material sunt facuti dar mi se pare ca imita binisor tesatura de brocart. Iar mie imi place brocartul. Desigur ca a trebuit mama sa imi taie putin elanul comentand ceva de genul “zici ca porti draperia pe care o aveam in baie in ‘93” dar e ok, pot trai cu informatia asta:))

Give me purple and some green, please

EN: If you read this blog, than you already know I’m not a skinny jeans/pants person and I almost never wear them. I feel so much better in loose silhouettes that don't cling to the body, like skirts, dresses or wide legged pants! So, it’s only natual that I’m thrilled to see such a wide variety of trousers out there right now, although most of them are skinnies. In my opinion, this kind of cut only looks good on thin frames with narrow hips, models or elementary school girls.
I fell in love with the amazing loose fit of these pants and the richness of their purple color so I bought them immediately, even though they were all sold in my size and I had to buy a bigger size.

RO: Daca cititi blogul acesta(eventual de mai mult de 2 zile), stiti deja ca nu sunt o fana a pantalonilor sau jeansilor de tip skinny si ca port asa ceva foaaaaaaarte rar. Ma simt mult mai bine in siluete lejere care nu se lipesc de corp, cum sunt fustele, rochiile sau pantalonii largi! Deci va dati seama ce incantata sunt sa vad o asa paleta larga de optiuni in magazine. Ma rog, modelul skinny inca e tatal lor dar e bine ca apar si altele afara de cele care vin bine pe 1) scolarite de clasa a6a cu solduri nedezvoltate, 2) Naomi Campbell, 3) siluete tip mar, 4)Naomi Campbell si 5)dudui cu metabolism beton si silueta pe masura.
Perechea de fata mi-a picat cu tronc din cauza formei grozav de lejera si bogatiei culorii, asa ca i-am cumparat imediat in ciuda faptului ca n-am mai gasit marimea mea si a trebuit sa iau una mai mare.

The necklace is also new (well, it’s vintage actually but it’s new in my jewellery box), I got it last week from etsy.

Colierul e nou si el (ma rog, e vintage de fapt dar e nou in cutia mea de bijuterii), l-am luat saptamana trecuta de pe etsy.

It has this tassel fringe in the back which is actually way longer (it reaches my thighs) but for this kind of look, I prefer wearing it shorter. It would look so much better with a backless dress!

Are in spate un lant care e mult mai lung decat l-am prins eu (daca il las liber, imi ajunge pana la coapse) si de care atarna un fel de ciucuras cu franjuri. Pentru genul acesta de tinuta, prefer sa nu-l las la lungimea originala dar ar arata senzational cu o rochie cu spatele gol!
